I started out with stamping the image multiple times. In between, I misted and sprayed the stamp with water repeatedly.
As you can tell, I had a ton of inky fun. For each color, I took out many shades of ink. For example, I used nearly every green for Distress Oxide. The same with the flowers and buds.
Once I was happy with the image and let it dry. I ink-smooshed some more colors for the background. You may think that my photo is out of focus. However, due to my multiple stamping with water, the images became slightly blurry.
This card reminds me of the Impressionism.
From Wikipedia: Impressionism is a 19th-century art movement characterised by relatively small, thin, yet visible brush strokes, open composition, emphasis on accurate depiction of light in its changing qualities (often accentuating the effects of the passage of time), ordinary subject matter, unusual visual angles, and inclusion of movement as a crucial element of human perception and experience.
Last but not the least.... Whether you are celebrating Halloween or not, you can not escape the decoration, merchandise,.... and CANDY, of course. I am sharing my one and only Halloween card this year to keep up with the spirit!
I actually love eating candy corn. I am not sure sure Candy Corn got such a bad reputation. Some jokes even mention that Candy Corn is kind of weird and yet it exists.... 😁😂

Pretty floral card, and a fun Halloween card too!
Great Halloween card— can’t go wrong with gnomes and candy corn. Your impressionist wildflower card is lovely!
Just adore your impressionist card Virginia. It's is perfect. And your Halloween card is delightful.
I adore your impressionistic card, with variegated colorful background and the addition of gold string and heart. I don't make Halloween cards, but do like to see card designs, especially the cutesy kind. Yours is adorable and I too like candy corn .
Love the 'artwork' on the flowers!
And the gnomes are super, you can't go wrong!
Stunning impressionist card but I LOVE the Halloween Gnomes the most!
Pretty and cute. Love the impressionistic style.
Both cards are absolutely wonderful!
Your impressionist card is reminiscent of Monet's. So beautiful. Looks like you've used just about the right amount of colors, they blend so well. Those Halloween gnomes are adorable...lots of candy to hand out to the gnomie kids.
I love what you did with the silhouette stamps. Thanks for the reminder to spray the stamps with water for the soft, impressionistic look. Your background totally makes the card pop!
Nice use of the stamp for the design. I like the impressionistic style to the finished florals. Great share.
I love the Impressionist technique. Great rendition!
Wow, I love your floral card, you have inspired me to try this technique!
Although Halloween is not a big thing here in New Zealand, you card is still very cute!
