Watercoloring the Succulents (with a Creative Light Bulb)

Hello friends!

It has been super cold in my area this weekend, I stayed home mostly and did some more water-coloring. The Spellbinders Stamp Of The Month is just right for this.
All product links are listed at the end of this post.
I took out all the images and positioned them in my MISTI.

I am a timid colorer, but images like this is manageable.

DSC_0118  Now here is the thing... you may know this already....

DING---->When you color (doing any type of coloring), if you like your outlines not getting lost in your coloring. You can re-stamp it in your MISTI if you leave your stamped paper in the exact same position.  Of course, this doesn't apply if you are doing no-line coloring.

This little "tip" really helps me with my confidence in coloring. I now don't get discouraged when my outlines are blurred from my poor coloring.

I hope that today's Creative Light Bulb is helpful.

Elevate Your Handmade Card

Hello friends!

I am excited to share today's project and hope that the post title peaked your interest.
We all want to take our card designs to the next level.... I mean, why not, we already spent the time and money. The next thing is....MAKE it and ELEVATE your design to great heights!
You may have already been smitten by the Altenew's Ornamental Bliss.
It kind of amazing what half circle stamp does, right?
My card for the release was my first try and it was not bad at all!

My 2nd take with this card is utilizing the coordinating die.

Let's talk about the obvious.... the embossing.
This set comes with a fine out line and this is really awesome if yo ucan simply just emboss it.
sending my love -001

Once I followed the guide and stamped in multi-steps to complete the design. It looked pretty good already! WAIT.... let's get the die out and do the dry-embossing (this is for you, Coni!).

With the tan embossing mat underneath the die, we now have a very sophisticated card.
Dare I say this is a near boutique-quality card?

Watercoloring a Stamped Panel

Hello friends!
I am popping in with a quick post about Altenew's NEW Artists Watercolor 24 Pan Set.
*All products used a linked at the end of this post.
For me, the easiest way to test out new watercolor set is to do some Emboss Resist.
I am using Vase Fillers as my example.
thanks a bunch

To start, I white-embossed the images on Watercolor paper TWICE. I wanted the white to be very bright and prominent.  I then chose all the rich tones and applied watercolors.
thanks a bunch -001
For this set of Artists Watercolor, I love the CREAMINESS and how the colors BLEND. It is definitely superior than the average watercolor sets.

Once I am satisfied with the color mix, I let it dry and die cut it with Rounded Frame Die.
thanks a bunch -002

To show off  the color and contrast, I added a piece of white die cut.
I felt that it can use a little embellishment and so, I decided to use some black string.

Happy Valentine's Day, my friends!

If you stop by to check out Altenew Feb release, please click here or scroll down.
I want to thank my regular followers who stop by daily and comment and give me so much love!
YOU are the reason that I blog! Thank you from the bottom of my heart!
Now I hope your eyes didn't get too blurry after the Altenew release blog hop from yesterday.
I know it can be a little challenging as there were so much EYE CANDY.
One of the stamps in this release is the lovely Alpaca!

edited: Some of you mention alpaca as llama.
HERE is an article about the difference between them.
Of course, Altenew is well-known for the floral images. However, when they do have cute and whimsical images, they still knock this one out of the ball park!

I love the ease of stamping/coloring images like this. My card from yesterday's release has a very elaborate background. The Feathered Leaves Stencil is amazing wot work with. To make it even more "over the top", I added the 3 stamped Alpacas! This is definitely a smile-maker!
thanks for being incredible

Today's card is a play with stamped images and pattern paper!

By using the pattern paper, this truly takes the guess work out of stamping. Believe it or not, the Alpaca was also stamped in pattern paper. The only thing I had to add was that bright pink scarf

The Alpaca stamp will work with any floral images and that way, you get the best of BOTH world--cute and floral!

What do you think? I will be back with MORE with Ornamental Bliss from this release next.
You definitely do not want to miss that! Thanks for stopping by!

Altenew February 2020 Stamp/Die/Stencil/Cutting Mat/Artist Watercolor 24 Pan Set Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

Hello friends!
Warning: Super-heavy photo post

Yay, it's February Release Blog Hop from Altenew!
I am super excited to share some cards and home decor projects with you.
If you arrive from the fabulous Agnieszka Malyszek blog, you are in the right place!

All the details about this blog hop, please visit Altenew Card Blog and/or Altenew Scrapbook Blog
All products are listed at the end of this post. Please use the links for your reference/shopping.

Card #1 Feature products: Dotted Diamonds, Watercolor Blooms Stamp & Die Bundle

First of all, the Dotted Diamonds is absolutely gorgeous!  If you look closely, the dots are various in the sizes! I stamped a few small flowers on top of the Dotted Diamonds.

I had fun stamping and die cutting the flowers. They may be tiny, but they were easy to stamp thanks to each flower's distinctive shapes.

Isn't this a happy bouquet? I also want to point out that the sentiment from Ornamental Bliss is very simple and modern. Love that!

Card #2 Feature products: Warm Hugs Stamp Set

This may be just a One Layer, but it has colors, contrast and depth.
If you love clean and simple design, this set is your answer!

I used one of the leaf images to stamp the yellow border.

Card #3 Feature products: Alpaca Stamp & Die
edited: The Alpaca was first stamped on pattern paper.
I then stamped the scarf in Ruffleberry, Sapphire and Snapdragon.

How cute are these three Amigos Alpacas!? Now Altenew is well-known for floral images, however, I am all for cute and fun images like this alpaca. I definitely hope that Altenew will come up with more stamp sets like this.
I will have ANOTHER alpaca card to share next. Be sure to check it out!

Card #4 Feature products: Ornamental Bliss Stamp & Die Bundle

The Ornamental Bliss is simply like no other! The details of each layer is astonishing.
You can stamp it all OR you can also color them as you wish.

I stamped all of the images in jewel tones and love how it turned out.
I decided to ink up the bottom part and positioned the image over.

Again, the simplicity of the font from Ornamental Bliss really elevates the design.
I added some silver strings and sequins for the embellishment. Hope you like what I created for this release. I will share many more cards with this release in the next few days. Please stay tuned.

Lastly, I want to point out Altenew's Cutting Mat.... it is the ultimate crafting surface!
I love that there are grid on the mat and they are so soft to touch and yet tough to handle heavy use.
If you are looking for a mat that are designed for cardmakers/scrapbookers, this is definitely one to consider!
