Alcohol-Inked Background

Hello friends!
I am excited to share today's project with you.
A few weeks ago, I was in the mood to create a colorful background with Alcohol Ink.
At that time, I loved how it turned out and had a lot of fun layering each color over another.

Red Roses (Penny Black)
However, I didn't know what to do with it.
I let it sit in my desk for many days. And then the idea came to my mind.
Ta-da!

The details of the Red Roses Die made the perfect match for this eye-catching background.

Now...about the background, it is very helpful to have a tool like this NEW Tim Holtz Alcohol Air Blower.  I do not own the TH air blower since it is new to the market. However, I have been happily using my We R Memory Keepers Marker AirBrush in the last few years. It works great with my alcohol markers AND Alcohol Ink. If you like the duel purpose and don't mind the odd shape, I would recommend We R Memory Keepers Marker AirBrush.

A few things to keep in mind when adding Alcohol Ink (Pearl) :
~ small amount of Alcohol ink and Blending Solution go a long way. I tend to use smaller amount and add more as I go. This also helps with controlling the depth and flow of the inks.
~using a Marker AirBrush really helps to steer and move the directions of the ink.

~be patient: add the color slowly. Once dry, you can add more layers! This is why that you get to have the mix of red, pink, yellow and red.
~have fun: you may get a few brown muddles here and there.  You can save it, scrap it or trim it for later use.

I like the look you achieved from the blending. I've tried in the past, but always ended up with a big mess. I will have to try again, but with some of your tips in mind.
