Stretch The Christmas Ornament Die

Hello friends!

Remember this die? I mentioned that I'd try to create a project without the ornament element? Spellbinders' monthly new release include this intricate Christmas die. You can check them out HERE.

Through the Woods Etched Dies is part of the Christmas Traditions Collection and can be used in several different designing options. Nest all 12 thin metal dies to create a fun layered Christmas tree scene in an ornament arrangement. Create a window or a shaker card. Use the scene itself for a great focal accent.

 Merry Christmas -003

I am creating a scene with all the elements without using the ornament dies.

Merry Christmas -006

Each die in this set is just so well done. The two Christmas dies has lovely shape, size and textures. I decided to create a "forest".  I used the negative die paper ( a circle cut out) and ink-blended the  Glacier Cave Pigment Ink.

 Merry Christmas -004

To make the focal point extra special, I used green glitter paper for the tree in the truck. as for the sentiment, I carefully trimmed off the circle and managed to keep the text in tact!

Merry Christmas -005

I didn't change up the colors scheme from my previous design because I love these iconic and classy colors. See? It's do-able and so fun!!

Incoperate Patterns Into a Frame

Hello friends!

I have a TWEET card to share today. If you like birds, you will love this Bird of The Wood Set. The bird is rather large and detailed.

With the guide on the package, you can and will be able to achieve gorgeous results.  I have seen many variations of colors with this bird and there is not one color combo that I didn't like.

I stamped this card with colors that I thought will go well together. I then took out the the pattern paper and die cut it.

I then tore off part of the rectangle die and left the 2/3 of the rectangle in tact. This creates an illusion that the background has a "invisible frame" about the bird.

I also love how the pattern paper really brings out he deep rich colors of the birds.

 Hello

The die cutting are perfect and the die-cutting leaves very polished finished design.

Embossed, Stenciled and Die Cut Seasonal Blooms

Hello friends!

I am popping to share a few projects from Craft Your Life Seasonal Blooms. This kit is the first Craft Your Life Project Life that Altenew started  in July. It was sold out many times and finally, it is now back in stock again. I can't be sure that it will not be sold out again. So, if you are interested, you really should just grab it.

For today's card, I took the advantage of stencils and coordinating dies and came up with this.

Altenew Craft Your Life-Seasonal Blooms

If you look closely, I actually used kraft card stock and white-embossed the images. If you have not tried layering stencils with the embossed image, you should totally try it. It is fail-safe.

Altenew Craft Your Life-Seasonal Blooms

Thanks to the stencils, I was able to color the solid images with inks.

I have seen many versions from this Project Kit and each one of them is all so different.  You can see my first version here.

Christmas Ornament Die

Hello friends!

I am popping in with another Christmas Ornament Card. Previously, I made one with Spellbinders September release.  Spellbinders' monthly new release include this intricate Christmas nativity scene.

I am not sure about you, but I am not a big fan of using tiny pieces of dies. However, this set of dies can be small, but once you figure out which is which, it was actually very satisfying to put together.

Merry Christmas

I used predominantly the Mirror Silver Paper for the frame and used Canopy Glitter Paper for the trees.

Merry Christmas -002

As for the truck, there are only 4 small pieces to assemble. I love how easy this came about.

 Merry Christmas

Using vellum for the "hilly roads" is a good idea.

Merry Christmas -001

I am now eager to try using this die set to create a regular card without the ornament elements.ornaments

One More Take with Craft Your Life (Hello Beautiful)

Hello friends!

If I am ever stuck in an island and I am only allowed to have one monthly subscription....

I would choose Altenew Craft Your Life Monthly plan. Thank you.

Altenew-PK Hello Beautiful-002

Thankfully, I am not stuck in an island and I am allowed to create however I like. But this kit really has every basic item that a stamper like me would love.

beautiful day -003

Here's the 3rd card from the 3 that I made.

sending hugs

I stacked two dies and adhered to the navy card-stock. The design is super simple, but it's the motion and composition that made the design shine!

sending hugs

The splatter in this card is crucial. In order to keep it very controlled, I blocked off all the area that I do NOT want to have splatter with paper on top.

sending hugs (lush garden)

This way, you can totally have control where the splatter that you want to land. Completely. Therefore, do not be afraid to add splatter!

With the change of card stock and inks, the design possibilities are endless.

Here are the trio side by side.

Scene Card Made Easy with Layering Dies

Hello friends!

I am popping in to share a scene card with dies. Spellbinders' monthly new release include this intricate Christmas nativity scene. You can check them out HERE.

About this die:  Rejoice Nativity Etched Dies is part of the Christmas Traditions Collection and can be used in several different ways. Nest all eight thin metal dies to create a lovely, layered nativity scene in an ornament motif. It can create a window card or a shaker card. Use the scene itself for a wonderful focal accent.

At first glance, you'd think this scene card takes a lot of work to construct. Well, not so!

rejoice

I started out with die-cutting two pieces of ovals and used the outline die to cut them out. I love using the Mirror Gold and Mirror Silver Paper. You do not need a lot of these specialty paper, however, they do make the project easy to create and SHINE like no other!

 rejoice -001

With the 3 oval dies, you get to create a starry background and detailed outline. The solid oval allows you to cut out each oval. Once you layer them up, you are good to go.

 rejoice

Part of the die set has a line die. I used it to create a hilly background by using vellum.  I decided to ink up the background in various blue, so the oval ornament can stand out. I think it worked!

rejoice -003

For the final touches, I added some metallic strings for the "ornament topper". They really go well with the overall design. I am so pleased how easy this card came about. In fact, I made this card when I had a hard time falling asleep. Once I finished the card, I slept like a baby!

Inlaid Diecutting with a Twist

 Hello friends!

Hope this post finds you well. I am feeling better and have fully recovered from the Colonoscopy that I endured this past Wednesday. All is well.  It is important to get the colons checked and you should not skip it just because it is unpleasant to prep. Life is MORE important than the slight inconvenience we face. So, that is my public announcement for the day. Back to the regular share....

Today's card is to remind you to use intricate dies and make it look extra special.

Altenew-Lingonberry Branch Stamp & Die Bundle

This design is rather easy to do and yet it gives the card the subtle sophistication.

Altenew-Lingonberry Branch Stamp & Die Bundle-002

There are just three simple elements: stamping, coloring and diecutting. The extra mile you go for is the inlaid die-cutting part. Notice that I die cut the white card stock? I then inlaid the colored die cut piece and cemented into one piece. This can be done with Washi tape or double-sided tape.

Altenew-Lingonberry Branch Stamp & Die Bundle-001

The last part of fit the entire cut piece over the gray card stock. I added the white-embossed sentiment and embellished it with metallic strings and enamel dots.

Altenew-Lingonberry Branch Stamp & Die Bundle-003

What do you think? You can expand this idea with many border dies and flower stamps/dies.

This stamp is FREE and today is the last day with any order. If you are shopping, please check out your purchase (affiliate link applied) ---->  here at no additional cost to you. Thank you for your support.
