A Scene Card-Revisited

 Hello friends!

It has been a while since I stamped a landscape scene card. Today's card is one that I have been wanting to create, but didn't have the chance to. Over the weekend, I took out the new-to-me Mountain Magic and did some stamping.

At first glance, this stamp didn't seem like much. However, the details and design truly come through once you start inking it up. With Repeated Stamping, I first layered 3 sets of the grasses.

Perhaps they look like Feather Reed Grass? If you know of the name of the grass, please leave me a comment. I do love the large mass of grasses as they look so beautiful.

With each stage of stamping, the grass look amazing with pink, orange, green, yellow and brown. Since I used Distress Oxide ink, I didn't hesitate to clear-emboss all of the images. I then added a touch of light blue in the mix. Thanks to the Emboss Resist, the colors stayed true and didn't get muddled.

Once I finished stamping the foreground, I stamped the faraway mountains with Pumice Stone and added the sunset. I think this makes a great masculine/encouragement card.

HERE is the STAMPtember /Tim Holtz collaboration set. Hurry as it will sell out!

Thanks for stopping by!

The colors used combine to make a lovely scene card! Would not have thought to combine those colors but they work well!

YOu're right it would make an excellent masculine card. Love the depth of those grasses, whatever they're called.

The grasses are cattails. A friend of mine is an environmental expert. She even helped me identify the birds featured in Papertrey Ink’s Feathered Friends lines so I can look to the real thing for color inspiration. Altenew’s new bird resembles a blue bird! on another topic, I so enjoy your artistic talents! Thank you for sharing!

Lovely cattails design, great color combinations. Always appreciate a masculine design. They seem the hardest to create.
