One Layer Fall Wonder

Hello friends!
Have you stamped a one layer lately?
http://shrsl.com/1tt6u
http://shrsl.com/1u6st
This stamp set "All Natural" prompted me to create a one layer! the images are just the right size to fit into a card front.

thankful
As usual,  started with the main image and worked from there. Starting with the right bottom corner and worked my way to cover up all of the borders.

Once I finished stamping, I wet my fine paint brush and then "dragged" the stamped Distress Oxide and colored the images lightly.

If you are ever stuck on ideas with stamping, this type of cards are perfect for the inspiration.

Another Circle Series

Hello friends!

I am popping in with a quick post about another circle series.
DSC_0114
As you may know, I have many die cut circles left after decorating my daughter's wedding program.
I do not want to see the circles go waste as a I challenge myself to make use of them.

happy birthday

The repeated stamping is the classy technique that every stampers use often.
I took out three circle dies and inked them up with pink and red.
Apparently Pink and Red were the go-to colors for this year's Emmy Award.
That's where my inspiration came from. 😊

I ink-blended the circle die with Altenew Ink and then stamped one of the layering image from

happy birthday-002

I stamped the same rose image  (located in the middle at the bottom row) three times. They are so striking against the red and pink.

It's been a week since my daughter's got married. Gosh... 😌
An update on the newly-wed.... they had gone on their honeymoon to Austria.
Both of them love classical music. Mozart and "The Sound of Music" tour are the priorities!
I am definitely living my best life through my children's traveling lenses...
Hope you are enjoying your weekend!

Simple No-line Watercoloring

Hello friends!
I am happy to share a project (featuring Poinsettia Poem)with you.
Normally, it takes me about 30 minutes to an hour to create a detailed card.
Today's card was created in a few sessions of 30 minutes. I thoroughly enjoyed the process and didn't find it time-consuming.
http://shrsl.com/1u6ur
This image is so detailed and beautiful. I decided to do no-line coloring.
I do not have lots of confidence in my coloring in general.
However, I am quite happy how this turned out.
a Merry Wish (2)

When it comes to no-line water-coloring, I almost always use lighter ink such as "Antique Linen" for Distress Ink or Distress Oxide.
a Merry wish

Coloring each Poinsettia leaf one at a time and just let loose with the coloring...
Once I finished coloring, I colored the images lightly with the metallic ink (white and silver work the best).  This process leaves the image a touch of shine and make the colors look more cohesive.

A Merry Wish -002

I took a bold move and die cut the center with the smallest "Stitched Loops"
I added two colors to brighten it up. Underneath the rectangle die, I added a strip of gold foil paper, so you can see the shine underneath.

A Merry Wish

I really like the colors pop in the middle and this really emphasizes the sentiment, too.
A Merry wish -001
Of course, I had to add some gold strings to jazz up the festivity of the design.
Other than that, this card requires no embellishments.
I encourage you to take out a stamp and start coloring one little bit at a time....
Through this exercise, you will truly experience the joy of coloring/crafting like I did.

A Very Tweet Stamp "Merry & Joy"

Hello friends!

Are you are a bird lover? I am weak when it comes to bird images.
If you love a bit of whimsy and clean and simple lines.... this is a very sweet image!
Will you take a virtual flight with me?
http://shrsl.com/1tam8
This stamp "Snowy Flight may just help you to reach new height....
It has very simple detailed lines and the image just melt your heart.  I also think it's great for mass producing if you like to make it your official Christmas greeting cards.

merry
I started out with a very light stamping. I would suggest beige or grey tone.
"Antique Linen" Distress Oxide/Distress Ink is perfect for this purpose.

This design requires little coloring....which is why it is great for mass production.
I think I fussed too much about coloring the birdie. In the end, the bird ended up having a huge part of brown. 😏 However, realistically, it doesn't look too bad. so, I just went with it.😛
http://shrsl.com/1tamo
Once I did the light coloring and in-blending, I dry-embossed the entire image through with the new rectangle "Stitched Loops".  Sometimes I do wonder if I get dies for the die-cutting or dry-embossing.....hmmmmm. 😄

merry-001

In the end, I added the Merry And Joy Die at the top and call it a card!
I hope that you enjoy seeing these new Penny Black Stamp in action.

Lastly, if you are intrigued how I did the "snow" on the branches and background...
This Pico Embellisher is quite a great embellisher to have in your stash. It allows you to have total control of the fine white liquid (it dries quickly, too).

One Layer Wonder

Hello friends!
Yesterday I received this Botanical Motif from Simon Says Stamp.
http://shrsl.com/1u5xg
This special stamp set is the collaboration of Altenew and Simon Says Stamp.
I quickly gave it whirl and this is what I came up with.

hello friend (4)

This set is very popular and has very limited supplies and I think it will sell out soon!
DSC_0028

I did a little bit of masking with the two large flowers and stamped around the images.
Instead of green, I used grey for the leaves.
hello friend

This set is so very easy to line up. It is a great set for beginners or advanced level for stamp-layering.
