Beautiful "Mistake"

Hello friends!
I have an unplanned card and it turned out just OK.
It all started with a pool of spilled ink from the yellow Spectrum Noir Sparkle Pen.
I was trying to shake up the pen and let the juice flow out. That didn't work!
I unscrewed the pen and a huge gush of yellow liquid spilled all over my craft mat! Grrrr.....

Bliss (Penny Black)
I could have just wipe it all off and let all the precious liquid go.
Instead, I took out a piece of white card stock and mobbed up some of the ink....just to make myself feel better. You know how we crafters do not like to waste our supplies!😉

I now have a piece of card stock with yellow blotches.
very thankful for you (2)
Then this card was born.
With some stamps, die and some imagination, you can turn any potential disaster on paper into work of "art"! You can now see why I wanted to salvage the yellow liquid.....?
very thankful for you (3)

I took out the Penny Black Cling stamp Bliss and started stamping. In order to add some subtle details, I dry-embossed it with the die.
very thankful for you

I used thin embossing plates,  so the dry-embossed details are not as deep.
For final touches, I added a piece of vellum border with Garden Edgers Thin Die.
very thankful for you-001

I am proud to say that I turned rubbish into a piece of little ART!
The shine is absolutely gorgeous!

What mistakes!? :D I thought that unique background is perfect for the floral image!!

Love your sparkly background with the floral image you used. It looks like that was the look you were going for all along.
I have done the same thing with the sparkle pens-- mine was an orange Wink of Stella. Looked like a third of the pen's contents were in my mat.

That made a great background for your card!

What a happy accident. Are you making these cards for me? Yellow, dry embossing, what could be better. All that pretty stamping make for a beautiful outcome. Lovely.

Awesome save, Virginia!! I always tell my husband that I can save an oops card most of the time, if I just have the time to do it - that little thing called life tends to get in the way though!!

Oh wow! No one would ever know it was a 'mistake' unless you tell! You really made it a great card! :)

No such thing as a mistake when crafting... just opportunities for creativity and that you certainly did here Virginia. Couldn't have turned out better if you had tried to plan it! The glitter yellow really makes the flower pop.
