10-Year Bloggerversary

Hello friends!
Today is a very special day!
I am reaching a huge milestone....
I have reached my 10th year of blogging-Yes, Virginia!

In 2009, I started my blog on a whim. I had absolutely no idea what this would lead me to.
And here I am....10 years later!!!!!!!!!!
After over 2500 posts, I am still loving and enjoying running this blog.

This month, I decided to take a "break" from the Show and Share.
All you need to do is leave me a comment and 3 random winners will receive prizes!
The comment is open till Sept. 29th, 11:59pm EDT.

Two winners will receive $15 Gift Card to Altenew Shop.
One winner will receive $15 Gift Card to Simon Says Stamp.

I want to give everyone that follow my blog a chance to participate the giveaway,
therefore, there is no Show & Share this time.

A little trip down the memory lane:

My first blog post in Sept. 2009
I didn't think I need a blog...I mean, who will follow me!? Who wants to know EVERYTHING about me-little me? Then the more I visited other friends' blog, I realize that it is NICE to have a little corner in the cyber world. I had made so many wonderful friends over my hobby, namely, stamping/card-making.

Just less than a year ago, I was still coping with missing my DD Stephanie's away to university. She (and I) had such tough first year!!! Back then, when I drove her to the bus terminal to return to her campus in Toronto, we both would cry our heads off!! And now she is into her 3rd year, well-adjusted, she even became a mentor for Freshman this year! Along the way, I picked up my long-lost hobby: card-making!

For now, I'm content that I have my blog as it is a great way to connect with friends and relatives in this day. So I'll say :"Yes, Virginia....there is a blog and you can have one:) "

How time flies when you are having fun!
By the way, Stephanie is now a Program Evaluator with a PhD in Public Health.
She is getting married on Sept. 21st!
(Greg and Stephanie)
David was in Junior High when I started the blog. He just finished driving across US from Ontario to California in 10 days. He will pursue Master's Degree in Robotics in UC San Diego this Fall.
(David with Delicate Arch, Utah)
David, Virginia and Dr. John (Aug.2019. Visiting Syracuse)
I will announce the winners on Sept. 30th.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for supporting this blog.
"Yes,Virginia..." blog is not possible without readers/followers like YOU.

About the comment to win: please tell me what you like about my blog, what you enjoy the most.... anything that you wish to share. You can enter up to 4 comments (on different days) in total. Thank you for taking the time to leave me some love.

I also want to thank you for your use of my affiliate links (updated daily) on the right side bar for your crafting purchase. The small commissions I earned helps me greatly in running this blog and make donations to various charities, such as Red Cross, World Vision, PBS and TVOntario!
Thank you for stopping by!

An amazing milestone Virginia ! I discovered your blog when you were on the CASual Friday Challenge DT (That's a long time ago - correct me if I'm wrong).
I then fell in love with your style and enjoyed to travel with you. These days I see and enjoy some of your yummy cooking (and cards of course) on Instagram too !
Congratulations (●'◡'●)

Congratulations on this huge milestone Virginia. I have been following you for quite a few years now and I love visiting as you have such beautiful cards that are so inspiring. I love when you and Dr John go on holiday and we get to share it. It's been awesome seeing your children growing from teenagers into such confident young adults. Congrats to Stephanie and her soon to be husband. How exciting. Hopefully we'll both be still blogging in another 10 years.

Wow, 10 years! I discovered you on a Blop hop and was so inspired by your amazing talent. It was two years ago and I had just discovered cardmaking, I started watching videos then discovered different companies. I found a Blop hop and thought I would try it, I found some wonderful designers!! That's where I found you, I immediately subscribed! I love your techniques and your tips. Congratulations Virginia! I was lucky to find your blog through Altenew and have been following your blog for about 2.5 years. I enjoy hearing about your family through your posts, seeing your wonderful vacation pictures, and most of all seeing the pictures of your children and Dr. John. When I open my email on my IPad the first one I look for is yours. I may not get to comment right away, but you can bet I have looked at it first thing. I like how you are so down to earth with your comments, show us cardmakers it is ok to make mistakes and then you show how to fix them. Congratulations on your 10 years! We all will look forward to seeing pictures of Stephanie and your family at her wedding. I guess I should add that you are my favorite card maker!

Like Cindy, I was in the Hero Arts Flickr group when you joined too. I remember those times with fond memories. We were really all fledglings in posting on Flickr, blogs, so many things and we've all traveled a long way with each other. Fond memories. I've always loved your personal entries of your trips, your children, all the stuff of life. It's always wonderful to see your smiling face and Dr. John's too - don't want to leave him out. How the kids have grown.

I love seeing your creations and hope to see you continue to enjoy blogging for a long time. Lots of hugs along the way.

Wow! Congratulations, Virginia! 10 years is an awesome milestone! I've been blogging for 6 years myself. You have a beautiful family, and your kids are doing very well for themselves - you must be so proud! What I like about your blog is of course your gorgeous cards - I love the designs and variety of your cards!

I am a fellow Canadian and we've had a rough week here - Hurricane Dorian hit Nova Scotia last Saturday. We had no electricity for 4 days and no phone or internet for 7 days, just got them back last night, such a relief. We even had 3 days with no cell phone service. Luckily our property sustained very little damage, but the damage in other areas of the province, even just down the road from us, was devastating. Worst storm I've ever endured! I'm so grateful to be getting things back to normal and to be able to get caught up on some of my favourite blogs! Wishing you continued fun and success with yours!

Virginia L. said...

Thank you, EVERYONE, for commenting! I love love each and every heartfelt comment that you all wrote! Keep them coming please!

To KT Fit Kitty: I am so sorry that Dorian did such damage to Nova Scotia. I have been following the news and know that it caused havoc in your area. I especially want to thank you for stopping by at this time!! I appreciate my fellow Canadian readers like YOU! Please take good care!
