Watercoloring with Metal Dies

Hello friends!

If you are interested in watercoloring, today's post is for you. I am sharing my card with Festive Cluster. This die is rather elaborate and detailed.

I wanted to try watercoloering with it.

This card took me some time, but it was very therapeutic

To keep the colors in place (without water flowing over too much). You can dry-emboss the die over your card stock. I find that this really helps with the loose watercoloring.

I am keeping this post short as I am recently swamped with many DT assignments. ...

How to Use Paint-a-Flower Sunflower without.. "Painting"!

 Hello friends!

I hope this post finds you well. I am loving the current Paint-a Flower Sunflower. It has beautiful lines, details and depth, not to mention that the composition of this stamp set is gorgeous.

I am sharing my 2nd version without painting it. I hope that you can also extend your use of outline stamps. This post will be a good example for that.

DSC_0204

I took out the Gradient Card Stock and paired them up with Sunflowers. The strips of paper were then carefully laid out. I glue them onto a thin piece of card stock.

I then trimmed it to the size I want (4"x 5 1/2"). With MISTI, I started to stamp the sunflower image.

you are my happy -001

It is very important to use a MISTI or any stamp positioner for stamping the larger outline image. There might be a few spots that may not get stamped. This can be avoided with a stamp positioner.

Here are the two versions with the same stamp set. If you not have tried the paper-piecing version?
I hope that you would give this a go!

I lined up the pumpkins and stamped repeatedly with the help of MISTI. This never gets old for me as the images coming to life. harvest wishes -001

I kept the images as foal point and added only  splatter, sequins and gold thread.

Two Fresh Ways with Birch Forest Stamp Set

Hello friends!

All products (highlighted in bold) used are affiliate-linked at the end of this post.

I have two Fresh ways of using Birch Forest Stamp Set. This background stamp is not just for seasonal cards, it is perfect for all year round. I hope that my ideas will give you extra ideas and inspiration on using stamp sets like this.10272020-Birch Forest-Apothecary Labels Nesting Die Set

My first card is a very clean and simple one . The white-embossed Birch Trees on the Real Gray Card Stock truly stand out and are absolutely stunning.  The stamp set truly speaks for itself!

10272020-Birch Forest-Apothecary Labels Nesting Die Set -001

I  stamped the encouraging sentient in Obsidian Pigment Ink on white card stock. And then I die cut it with the Apothecary Label Die and layered a black die-cut piece underneath. The black twines were looped and adhered with a double-sided tape.

10272020-Birch Forest-Apothecary Labels Nesting Die Set -002

I adhered the sentiment on top with double-sided tape and this card is complete. This card design is perfect for "thinking of you, birthday, sympathy... etc" types of sentiments.

10272020-Birch Forest-Sweet Flowers Stamps & Die Bundle

For the background in this next card, I only stamped part of the Birch Tree Forest in all of the green from Green Fields Mixed Media Ink.  I then added Crystal Clear Embossing Ink right after stamping and heat set it. This gave the Birch tree a beautiful shine and added textures. Love that about Mixed Medea Inks!

For the focal point, I stamped and die cut Sweet Flowers Stamp & Die Bundle in yellow (Golden Sunset) , blue (Lapis Lazuli) and purple (Shades of Purple).

This Sweet Flower Stamp Set has some amazing etched details and makes it effortless for us stampers.10272020-Birch Forest-Sweet Flowers Stamps & Die Bundle-002

from this post: Linda BL said...Both cards are so pretty. Even though they are done with the same rose die cuts, they are so different. Really shows how you can achieve so many looks with the same die. You could make many cards using the same set and the recipient would see a new fresh rose each time. The bright red rose on the second card is balanced by the dark bold paper. Really makes a lovely card. The first rose was my favorite card on the blog hop earlier in the week!

from this post: Nora Noll said...This is STUNNING!!! I LOVE the colors and the layering details!

Congrats, Linda and Nora, I will be contacting you for your e-mail address. So, you can get your Altenew GC!
