Alcohol-Inked Grape Leaves

Hello friends!

I am sharing an extra project that I created with Grape Leaves.

For the September Stamp Focus post over Altenew (see here), I was asked to share at least 3 projects with the same stamp. I went all out and made 6 cards with it.  Today post is card #6!

For this card, I used vellum as the leaves. I first made my own vellum color paper.

grateful for you

This was easy to do. However, I noticed one problem... when there is too much liquid, the vellum will curl up/warp. You can use heavy objects such as books to flatter it (that's what I did). OR simply color the leaves in alcohol inked markers sparingly.

I did find that the colors are much more rich and layered with the heavy dose of alcohol ink. You can color the front or/and back of the vellum. This pretty much depends on the thickness of vellum

Grateful for you -001

I really love how this turned out . The color contrast of the white leaf outline and vellum leaves are beautiful together.

I also inked up a colorful paper for the sentiment.

BTW for the current Altenew Inspiration Challenge is still on.  Check it out here and join the fun!

Your card is beautiful. The green leaves and white venation look so striking against the kraft cardstock!! The green splatter and the gold thread are wonderful touches. I love vellum colored with alcohol inks!

I really need to get some leaf stuffs. I like the idea for coloring the vellum. Nice combination with the vein and yellow square.

SO beautiful, Virginia! I think the curling of the leaves is an added bonus! Makes your leaves look more realistic. So gorgeous, so inspiring!
