2nd Take with Color Block

 Hello friends!

This time I used it in the same color scheme/tone and turned it vertically.

 For this design, I took out the two pieces of Scrapbook.com Floral Color Card Stock.

 

I also incorporated the Sunburst Stencil from the Liberty Collection. The embellishment was part of the Spellbinders Monthly Kit.

Applying "Tone-on-Tone" ink is a great idea for adding subtle interest and textures.

The gorgeous bright colors truly speak for itself. I didn't add too much more other than a few tiny sequins in the same color/tone.

Inking Up the 3D Embossing Folder

 Hello friends!

I am delighted to share a new card with inked embossing folder. Normally, it is just great to use embossing folders for textures and details with white or colored card stock. However, it is also fun and easy to ink up the entire embossing folder. 

For today's card, I am using Mega Succulent 3D Embossing Folder as an example.

To create the various shades and colors, I started out with inking up the embossing folder prior to dry-embossing. 

I did this 2-3 time times to make sure all the area embossed are covers with the shades of green. The next step, I used small ink-blending tools to go over the area that needs extra highlighting.

Last but certainly not the least, I inked up the surface with foam (my favorite way) with Salvaged Patina (and Altenew purple ink). Salvaged Patina may seem ordinary at first (that's what I  thought initially). However, it was like magic for the Mega Succulent. The colors just POP once I added Salvaged Patina.

Creative Take with Color Block Die (Spellbinders)

Hello friends!

I have a fun post to share. This time I am using Color Block Die Set from Spellbinders.

About this die: Color Block Panel Etched Die Cuts part of the Liberty Collection. This die creates an impactful background. Use with your favorite colors combinations to create the envelope effect or get creative with layering on a card front. Approximate Size: 5.50 x 2.75" 14.0 x 7.0 cm

Color block trend has been popular in fashion and designs for decades. This trend continue to wow us. And why not? We love colors and color block provides a road map for color placement. HERE is all about color-blocking from Wikipedia.

I took out two pieces of bright card stock and started die-cutting. To make it "mesh" better, I overlap part of the die and did the Inlaid Die-cutting.

Once I was happy with the panels, I dressed up the design with a few simple floral elements.

The sentiment is from May's Clear Stamp of The Month.

A Card with Mixed Media

 Hello friends!

I am popping in with a mixed media card. This is part of the Educator Instagram Blog Hop. You can find out all about it over my Instagram HERE.

 I am using Decorative Swirl Die for my design. This set comes with large size swirls and leaves. 

I inked up the swirls with my Gel Plate. I tend to create coral/yellow/orange colors. I guess those are the colors that I am drawn to. Note to self: I must try exploring more with other colors!

Based on the colors I used, I went ahead and used Narrow Brick Stencil with the embossing paste.

With the extra embellishment, I die cut leaves (Adhesive Sheet) and applied glitter!

With a somewhat complex background, I used Mega Label Love Stamp Set and that really draws our eyes to the focal point (sentiment). I hope that you like seeing how using mixed media can be fun and creative.

Seamless Diecutting

 Hello friends!

I have a simple Toucan card with lots of tropical vibe and colors.  This bird image is easy to color and I had no trouble in finding inspiration from Pinterest.

Featured products (linked at the end of this post): Tropical Toucan Stamp & Die Bundle, Warp Speed Stencil, Halftone Hearts Nesting Die, Wild Flora Wide Washi Tape , Elegant Foil Stripe Washi Tape 

Once I chose the Wild Floral Washi Tape, I took the color inspiration and went with it. If you look closely, you can see that I die cut the Toucan OVER the heart.  

 

I then popped the Toucan back in and adhered it with Washi Tape on the back. Thus, the heart and birdie are in one piece. This is one "technique" that I do often and I don't think there is a term for it.

 I'd call it "Seamless Die-cutting".

I love how the stencils and Washi Tape can give you instant boost of interest and colors.

This truly is a fun card that I know my son David will love! He has completed his Masters degree in San Diego, California! It's been a while that we saw him since last Christmas! I plan to mail this to him and give him a surprise!

Sunburst Stencil from Liberty (Spellbinders)

 Hello friends!

I am popping in with a quick post about the Sunburst Stencil from Spellbinders.

 To highlight the sea water, I did a tone one tone approach. I then sprayed a layer of Iridescent Shimmer Spray over and let dry.

I combine's this month's Clear Stamp Set of the Month (sentiment) and Monthly Card Kit (ephemera) to create this "under the Sea" design.

Three Timeless Designs with Majestic Bouquet

 Hello friends!

It's my turn to share  3 different cards with Majestic Bouquet Stamp & Die Bundle over Altenew Card Blog. All products used are underlined listed at the end of this post.

This 8"x12" multi-layered flower comes with two large flowers with (4 layers each),  3 sets of small/large leaves (3 layers each) and 11 lovely sentiments.

 

The first card is all about that layers of colors and shades. The flower color combos are Coral Berry, Cotton Candy and Heart Beat. The leaves are Sunray, Silver Lake and Grey Denim.

I find it very useful to use pattern paper to accentuate the stamped images. The good news is Altenew ink (Gentleman's Gray) are perfect with the Poured Acrylic Paper Pack.

To add textures and interest to the pattern paper, I ran it through the die cut machine with Angled Mosaic 3D Embossing Folder. If you have not tried using embossing folder with pattern paper, you totally should!

Once I finished adhering the pieces with Instant Dimension Foam Tape, a few droplets of Antique Silver Metallic Ink Spray splatter made this card complete!

If you like to take your stamping skills to new heights, the next shows that you can! Thanks to the coordinating Majestic Blooms 3D Embossing Folder, your stamped images will now have an extra element-dimensions!

For the leaves and background, I mixed up the blend of Secret Garden and Cerulean Skies. For the large bloom, I used Enchanted Garden with a touch of blue.

 

 If you are challenged with the composition of floral arrangement, the embossing folder will be helpful. You can stamp directly onto the dry-embossed images. How cool is that?

 

 If you don't want to stamp all of flower and leaves, you can leave it un-stamped (like I dd at the bottom).

The last card is all about effortlessness and simplicity. I used the smaller bloom with the 3D Embossing folder. After stamping it in blue shades, I die cut and popped it over the dry-embossed image. The scale and size of the embossing folder match perfectly with these stamped images.

 The flower (Iceberg, Baby Pink and Starlight) and leaves (Sunray, Grass Field, Firefly) are die cut and popped up over the dry-embossed image.

 The Real Gray Card Stock is just perfect with these stamped and dry-embossed images. Here is a closer look of the three cards with the Majestic Bouquet.
