Simple Elegance

I am popping in to share a simple yet elegant card. 

Card-making doesn't have to be complicated.
 I am using Penny Black Folk Art Christmas Tree Die as an example.

Today's card only requires a few simple element and it's fun to create.

Let's get started.

First, let's take a look at the tree die. After die-cutting, I smeared Distress Oxide all over the tree die.

Once coated and dry, I adhered two more die cut pieces underneath. 

 To add the gilded touches, I took  out my huge jar of Nuvo Radiant Gilding Gold Flakes.

After applying with the Kuretake Zig Memory Glue Pen, I was able to coat the tree with golden flakes. Love the look. 

Next it's about the background. I die cut the card stock with the small rectangle die from Crystal Frame Die. With Embossing Mat, I dry-embossed the frame. 

Next, I masked off the innner frame (with thin strips of paper ) and outer frame in Scattered Straw and Cracked Pistachio. 

I love how this turned out and keep the embellishment to minimum.
