Dramatic Spotted Orchid Card

 Hello friends!

I am popping in with a post about Spotted Orchid from Altenew's latest release.

 

 

This stamp set is suitable for all level. It is amazing how easy to create this intricate and realistic look with minimum effort. The above were my first and 2nd take with this stamp. 

 Then I had more fun with this stamp and used various shades of pink.

 This stamp does not have an outline stamp. I used the Altenew Fineliner Pens and traced around the negative die.

 

 I decided to use black card stock for a dramatic backdrop. The added sentiment from Simple Greetings is so lovely in this. White on vellum? Yes, please!

 

The depth of these orchid are incredible. I can't wait to play some more and try out more color combo.

 

My local grocery store has a ton of orchid plants and they are my source of inspiration.

Feature products #1: Versatile Vases 2 Stamp & Die Bundle, Spotted Orchid Stamp Stencil & Die Bundle

If you love The Versatile Vases, you know how versatile and fun to use these vases along with your floral creations. This Vase 2 will take your floral arrangement to new height!

For the vase, I clear-embossed it vase on Transparent Vellum. I then took the Artist Alcohol Markers and colored the backside of the vase. Inside the vase, I also added some "dirt", leaves and stems.  The Coordinating Die makes die cutting the vase a simple task.

 

Let's not forget the obvious.... the Spotted Orchid Stamp Stencil & Die Bundle is absolutely spot on. I can not believe the realistic look of these stamps can achieve!  I stamped the orchid in Martian Terrain Crisp Dye Ink and used the Layering Stencil for the largest outer layer. The petals look even lighter and more realistic!

I fell in love with the kitty. It is not fussy to assemble at all! It also has an interactive part.

You can use the bouncy paw or leave it out. The guide from the kit is easy to follow. I was pleasantly surprised how fun it was to put together this little card!

Combining Warm and Cool Colors

Hello friends!

Are you staying warm and cozy? I am already feeling the dead winter blue and it is time to create something bright and warm. Today's card combines the cool and warm colors. I think it really makes me feel better at the end.  

 

Here is the "Cozy" from Penny Black Die that I use as an example. 

This "Cozy" die is awesome as it cuts everything out beautifully. I ink-blended the strip in Distress Oxide. One thing I want to remind you is that make your ink work for you!

👉Don't be shy about using multiple shades of the same color family for ink-blending.

For example, for the green color, I used Cracked Pistachio, Bundle Sage and Twisted Citron (all Distress Oxide). For yellow, I used Squeezed Lemonade and Fossilized Amber. 

I added a piece of glitter paper (linked below) for backing. This really added shine and brings out the green. Hope you enjoy today's post.

 I started out with die-cutting the elements. In this die set, there are three main part of the dies: heart, small frame and outer frame. 

You can use parts of the die sets or all of them together.

 

 

I stamped the sentiment (from this month's Clear Stamp  of the Month) on glitter paper. 

I used the pattern paper pad from this month's Card Kit.

Altenew Build-A-Flower: Cora Louise Peony Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

I started out with masking the flowers and created a floral background. Altenew offers wide range of green ink colors. 

 

I highly recommend you to mix your greens and see what layered effect you get!

 I then decided to white-emboss the Peony on vellum. The details from the outlines are simply outstanding!

  

I colored heavily on the backside of the vellum flower and then fussy cut the peony.

I popped up the vellum flower and added metal thread. This card is done!
