Triangles Die from Penny Black

Today's card is graphic and colorful. 

I set out to create a few pieces of colorful paper with Distress Oxide.  Once dry, I die cut the pieces and started assembling.

 

I do not have a specific rhyme or reason how this design came about. In fact, I did this while I was up in the early morning. And... I was not quite awake. 

 After gluing down the pieces and made it somewhat sensible, I went back to sleep.

 

 You can say that I am a "mad" card-maker!  This card will be great for a male or female and good for any age. Mission accomplished.

Craft-a-Flower Cistus

I am popping in with a post about using pattern /color paper.  I do like to make my own color paper, but once in a while, the readily available color card stock offer such a great alternative.

 I used the two collections of Gradient card stock (all listed at the end of this post).

 The guide on the Craft-a-Flower is easy to follow. This Craft-a-Flower Cistus was super easy to layer.

If you have dies like this set, perhaps it is time to look into your paper stash and see what you can come up with.

Simple Watercoloring

Bird's Eye View

Lately, I have been following/watching/ observing/stalking the bird nest just outside my craft room. After over a week, I watched anxiously and waited to find out how the baby birds are doing. I know that the Mama Bird flew away with the babies. It was such a relief.

 I created this card with some water-coloring.

 With the Sewing Stackers Dies, all the edges and corners were trimmed. It elevated the card to look neat and polished.

  I colored the bird with bright colors. After all, it is the bird that makes the card sing...

Exotic Parrot Stamp (FREE with Every Order)

 I am popping in with a very colorful and exotic parrot card! Let's start with the use of Altenew Floating Foliage 3D Embossing Folder.

 

 

You may already have lots of ideas on using embossing folders. 

 

 

 

My example here is just one of the many. I like to customize the colors of the embossing folders and hopefully, it will elevate the design.

Once I finished coloring the parrot with Artist Markers, I chose a few ink colors for the Floating Foliage 3D Embossing Folder. 

With that, the parrot does look exotic thanks to the background.

This die set is so easy to use. I decided to use the Gradient Card Stock, so there's no guess work on the color-layering.

For the leaves, I used as many shades of green and this really, to me, made a difference.

I sometimes wish I am florist.... because they would know how to arrange the flowers. 

Well, I tried my best to channel my inner florist and this was my arrangement. When you have multiple flowers and leaves, it is best to group them as tightly as you can.

I also keep the weight of the flowers in mind. That way, you can sort of figure out the movement.

 

I also took on inspiration from Pantone's Color of the Year. That's how I decided to use all shades of grey for the Buttercup background. It looks like that it worked splendidly!

Spellbinders Small Die Of the Month

Hello friends!

I am delighted to share a new creation with the Spellbinders Small die Of the Month. 

This month's "Arched A2 & Slimline Card Creator" small die set is perfect for making cards, decor, and more. I made TWO cards with this die and here they are!

The following card features the outer frame of the die.  I love it when you can use each part of the die for various purposes.

 I used the cream card stock and ephemera from May's Monthly Card Kit. The sentiment is beautiful and is from Clear Stamp of the Month.

  I love how these elements came together.

  The next card use the intricate part of the frame.

 I inserted the white-embossed circle and it fit perfectly with the overall design. The orange border was stamped with the stamp set from Card Kit.

 

I kept the design simple as the die has so many lovely and gorgeous details. Thanks for stopping by!
