No-line Coloring

Hello friends!

I am sharing a card with no-line coloring. 

As you may already know, I am not a confident color-er. 

However, we all need to push ourselves to try and do something different from time to time.

But first, I want to mention this new Heart-Builder Stencil stencil from Altenew.
My sample today show a softer and more subtle version of it.

The best things about stepping outside of your comfort zone is that you always pick up a few things that you would do differently next time. That is progress!


About the focal point, I used Altenew Watercolor Brush Markers to color. The new stamp set "Forever in Love" comes with two large collage and coordinating dies.

If you love coloring, this is a must-have!


As for the stenciled background. I highly recommend that Heart Builder Stencil.
I inked up the edges of the card stock by covering up the Altenew Oval Ink Pad in the middle (as a mask)! I really love the soft edges of the stenciled background.

DIY Bird House on a Card

Hello friends!

I don't know about you, but it is really fun to create something that you have always wanted.... 

on PAPER!

Rustic Birdhouse (Penny Black) 
I adore birds and bird houses in real life, therefore, the theme also extend to my paper-crafting.
Here is my latest projects with bird/birdhouse. 

There are a few key ingredients in today's project: 

1. "Bunches for You" Stamp Set and Rustic Birdhouse Die:

With the right stamps and dies, this card was so fun to create.

2. Pattern Paper:  I recently bought Wolf Pack 6x6 paper pack because I find that I am lacking masculine and nature type of paper. 

It turns out this paper is GREAT for creating nature theme card.

The paper turns out to be perfect for constructing the birdhouse and provided a subtle lined background.

3. Distress Oxide: I stamped only the upper portion of the "Bunches for You"with Distress Oxide.

I used the small flower die and added multiple flowers up and around the birdhouse pole.

For the extra shine, I used Nuvo Pure Sheen Glitter (Garden  Grove) with Glossy Accent.

Create with Virginia Rose 3 D Die

Hello friends!

I am popping in with a quick post about using 3 D dies.

From yesterday's feedback, many of you show a lot of interest with the Virginia Rose 3D Die !
 I am not saying that because it has my name...  😁
but the layering and details of the die are just awesome!

Before I start, I want to stress that it is VERY helpful to have this following tool.

Spellbinders Main Attraction

I am pretty cheap thrifty when it comes to acquiring tools.
However, this Spellbinders magnet tool is amazing when you have more than 12 pieces of dies in one set. You may have experieced losing small dies, but this tool will keep dies in place.
The Virginia Rose 3 D Die Set has 13 pieces.

 I use this tool to keep track which dies works together and group them accordingly.
Once the task it done, I move on to the next set of dies.


For my project, I used may own color paper. You can color each layer at you go, or you can use pattern paper. I would suggest to layer one or two first before you decide what works for you.



I find that it is best to start from the base layer and follow the guide step by step.
Once you make one, it gets really easy.

Altenew June 2019 Stand-alone Die Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

First up, it is my favorite die of this release...  it has MY name on it!

1. Virginia Rose 3D Die


First of all, the Virginia Rose is the bomb! I created my own color palette by using Watercolor Brush Markers. It was not difficult to assemble the rose once you get to know the pieces.


Extra products used: Illusion Spiral Stencil, Summer Garden Paper Pack 6x6 , Fancy Greetings


It is very effective to use just part of the stencil.

I use only the upper portion for the flower and I love how this turned out.

2. Nesting Label Dies, Star Flowers Pop Up Die


First of all, I am super excited about the nesting Label dies.
They are fun, easy and versatile! I am glad that Altenew has its own nesting dies.


I colored each piece in various colors and did the inlaid die-cutting.
Literally, I nested each piece and you've got an very impactful focal point.

Wait...the Star Flower Pop Up Die stole the show!


Aren't they beautiful with the partially-cut petals?

3. Color Wheel Die This large circle die is absolutely amazing!

You may have seen other versions with this die in this blog hop.
You can simply create your on color wheel with your inks! How cool is that?



I used half of the Color Wheel and created a colorful card. Love that Sentiment Strips Stamp Set!



4. Delicate Mandala Die

 

This largest die is absolutely exquisite!
I made the die cut with the pattern paper from "Live Your Dream" Paper Collection.


I then topped it off with a small gold-embossed vellum frame (the Fancy Frame Die).



The card was completed with sentiment, enamel dots and splatter!

I hope that my post gives you some good ideas about this release and perhaps some inspiration.

Hello friends!

Today's card may look like a lot of work to create, but it really is not.
What triggers me to create was that I wanted to share my DIY ink-blender.
I decided to create with card with the demo and shared it over Instagram.
