A Twist with Alcohol Lift Ink

Hello friends!

I am back to share another alcohol ink-related card.

Today's card is a byproduct of this card..... what do you do with the alcohol ink that you lifted?

Noel.believe.rejoice, peace

When I created this card (see above), I quickly took a piece of paper to ink up the residue from the alcohol ink. The fainted details were stamped from the lifting.

I thought the background looks kind of cool and then I stamped some more.
Joy

I used Distress Oxide for the rest of the stamping. To keep the ink contained and non-smeared, I clear-embossed it.... more reason to love Distress Oxide.

JOY -001
I added the JOY sentiment with a dark grey glitter paper.

Last but certainly not the least.....

🎅🎄I want to wish you a very Merry Christmas with your loved ones. 🎄🎅

I am thankful that my little family of 5 are able to get together as we adhered to our small social bubble guidelines. My son David came home from US and stayed in his room for 2 weeks! He wore a mask when he was out of his room and we ate at different table for two weeks! Thank goodness, the 2-week quarantine period is now over! We are all doing fine. I encourage you to follow me over Instagram HERE as I share tons of photos of my neighborhood Santa sighting.... I will post some more during the holiday if I can.

TIP: Before coloring, I like to stamp the image with Vanilla Cream first. This gives me a faint but clear outline for coloring. I can always re-stamp it later with the help of MISTI.

It didn't take long for me to color the images. I was having too much fun, so I decided to color the background as well.

I kept the embellishments to minimum....but it was still lacking something.

Inspired by Pantone Color of 2021

Hello friends!

I have been wanting to create a Pantone Color (2021)-inspired card. Here it is!

The stamp that I am using is call Whimsical Flower. It is FREE today over Altenew online shop with any order. Details are at the end of this post.

thank you

I started out with a stenciled background. I used Burlap Die and applied all sorts of gray ink.thank you -002

There were a few tiny square pieces that were stuck in the die, I didn't bother to re-cut it and left it as is.

thank you -001

Sometimes I really think it has advantages to be a laid-back card-maker-> that's me!
I do not fuss over some details sometimes. We are supposed to have FUN and do it the organic way, right?

thank you -004

This card involves a few fun techniques: coloring, stenciling, ink-blending, die-cutting.

I admit that I didn't quite get the exact shades of gray and yellow. I wish I have more shades of yellow Artist Markers.

thank you -005
However, it is lovely combo no matter what shades/tone you use. I highly recommend this color combo if you are ever stuck for color ideas!
thank you -003

The Whimsical Flower Die is not yet available, but the stamp set is FREE (with order over $39) -last day today!

Receive a FREE brand new Whimsical Flower Arrangement Stamp Set(Value $4.99) with *every order from 12/20/2020 at 12:01 am EST until 12/21/2020 at 11:59 pm EST or while supplies last. The free gift will be added to cart automatically.

Snowflake Cards with Alcohol Lift Ink

Hello friends!

I am back to playing with alcohol inks. It has been a while. Recently, I have received some amazing cling stamps from Penny Black and the Fab Flakes are perfect for alcohol-inking.

(all highlighted products are linked at the end of this post)

As usual, I created an artsy blue background with alcohol ink along with the Blending Solution. I decided to use the Alcohol Lift Ink. It has been a while....

I think it is best to use a slightly solid image for the lifting link. In this photo, you can see the lift image on the left.Noel

On the right, I white-embossed the VERY detailed snowflake. We have been having a few snowfalls here and there. I am feeling snow-inspired. With the re-inking of the Alcohol Lift Ink, MISTI is a must! Noel -001

This is the beauty of alcohol-inking. You just never know how it is going to turn out.
👉👉 edited: You may know that I am a thrifty stamper. I, for once, bought the Alcohol Lift Re-inker/refill!And boy, what a difference it makes! The Alcohol Lift Ink has to be juicy...to soak up the alcohol ink.

Add Multiple Glitter with EASE! No More Mess!

 Hello friends!

It is my turn to share a project over Altenew Card Blog.  It is all about glitter....

Do you avoid using glitter because it is super messy!? Well, you are definitely not alone! Altenew's latest product "Double-sided Adhesive Sheet (10 sheet/set)" will make your projects shine with ease!  I am pleased to show you the easy way to add glitter without a huge mess. Let's get started!

First, I die cut the "Just Leaves Die" over the Adhesive Sheets just like you normally do with paper. You can use Mini Blossom for this purpose.

I then carefully peel off the bottom layer of paper and stick to the desired spot. Be sure to pre-plan your intended placement before adhering. I peeled off the top layer of adhesive and poured the Champagne color glitter (seen in photo #1).12192020-Just Leaves Die-DoubleSided Adhesive Sheets#2

Once the Champagne color glitter is all glued to the adhesive sheet, I peeled off the top part of paper and added the green glitter.

I then carefully press the paper over the glitter to make sure the glitter are well adhered to the adhesive.

After cleaning off the excess  glitter, I now can complete the card.12192020-Just Leaves Die-DoubleSided Adhesive Sheets-BoldThanks Die#5 (2)

I used the leftover Adhesive Sheet and applied it behind the leaves. The "Enjoy The Ride 6"x6" Paper Pad" is perfect for the card base.

For the sentiment, I used Bold Thanks Die with the same stripe paper from Enjoy the Ride.

The Metallic Thread and Pure White Sequins make this card truly shine!

As you can see, you now can add all colors of glitter without messing up the glitter or creating a mess. I am pleasantly surprised how all this came nicely together.12192020-Just Leaves Die-DoubleSided Adhesive Sheets-BoldThanks Die -004

Here is another example of using adhesive sheet as masking stencil! 12192020-Just Leaves Die-DoubleSided Adhesive Sheets-BoldThanks Die -005

I hope today's post inspired you to give these fun ideas a try! I would love to have your feedback over Altenew Card Blog.

Masking Paper and Double-Sided Adhesive Sheets

 Hello friends!

I am back with more info about the Altenew Masking Paper and Double-sided Adhesive Sheets.

Let's start with masking paper.

Altenew-Masking Paper

You may have created masking paper with copy paper like I did before. These masking paper can be reused and re-positioned.

Altenew-Masking Paper -001

I loved using copy paper for masking because it is thin. However, the drawback is once you stamped it once or twice, the ink will sip through. With the Altenew Masking Paper, there is no such issue.

Altenew-Masking Paper

In this picture, you can barely tell that the masking paper is covering the image (see peeling part).

Next, I am quite excited about the Double-sided Adhesive Sheets.

 Altenew-Adhesive Sheets-Just Leaves Die Set

Altenew-Adhesive Sheets-Just Leaves Die Set-001

There are many applications with the adhesive sheets. So far, I have discovered the GREAT use of glitter myself. This truly is a game-changer for me. Altenew-Adhesive Sheets-Just Leaves Die Set-002

All you need to do it die- cutting, peel off the top paper and add glitter. Then position the die cut piece over the desired spot. That's it! The Just Leaves Dies is super popular....be sure to get it before it is sold out!

By the way, I used it also for part of the masking. Altenew-Adhesive Sheets-Just Leaves Die Set-004

As you can see the use of glitter and masking are made easy thanks to the double-sided adhesive. Altenew-Adhesive Sheets-Just Leaves Die Set-005

This card didn't take long to create thanks to the fun adhesive sheets. I will be back tomorrow for more topic on the adhesive sheets! Thanks for stopping by!
