Colorful Stamping with Color-Layering Stamps

Hello friends!
I made this card THIS very morning....
I was so excited to share, so I decided to have an impromptu post!

If you read the title of this post...does it confuse you?
It's hard to explain what I mean if just read the title.
Hope you are intrigued enough to come on in and check out today's post.

This set also comes with a die (which I think it's my next!).
I have finally have a chance to ink up a new (to me) stamp set from Concord & 9th.
In my stamping life, I have come across with many butterfly stamps, but this set really got my interest peaked.

With the multi-layering stamp, adding colors could not be any easier.
The large butterfly comes with 3 images and each one of them can be used on its own.
I inked up the solid image (the bottom one) with at least 2-3 colors of Distress Oxide. The inks can be easily mixed, especially if you can stamp the image with MISTI
I added MORE colors as I stamped the 2nd layer (the one in the middle). You can stamp a darker color if you like. For the final layer, I used Delicata Gold as this gives a subtle outline.

I started with the butterfly in the middle and used piece of butterfly cut out as my mask. When there is a slight gap in between each butterfly, I used Wink of Stella (Clear) and Distress Oxide to fill up the space. It works really well that way.

happy birthday

I highly recommend Distress Oxide, especially Worn Lipstick, Fossilized Amber, Spiced Marmalade and Cracked Pistachio.

Beautiful stamping and blending of these new inks! I bought three oxides but haven't had a chance to try them out. You've inspired me!

Your choice of colors is spot on! I have this set but sadly it hasn't seen any ink yet. Need to remedy that!
