It's Easy to Make an Impression

Hope you are enjoying the finer weather in your neck of the woods. I am starting to think about outdoor planters. I am not a gardener, however, planting is always getting me excited in Spring.

Take this Traveller's Atlas (Altenew) Embossing Folder as an example. It has super small and detailed impression. I tried a few types of card-stock and find that the metallic card-stock proves to be most effective.

I am sharing a card that can be easily impressed by all. What do I mean here?

It is effortlessly effective to use the right card-stock with dry-embossing folder. This card is a good example for that.I mounted the image and inlaid it inside the Picture Perfect Die. 

 

 To make the frame more appealing, I added World In Bloom Die. 

I do love the World in Bloom Die as it offers many possibilities (the floral elements, circles, globe... etc.). If you are discerning about make die purchasing, you need to look at each individual pieces and think of the designs that you can do. That's when I make the decision ...to buy or not to buy!

 The sentiment "Smile" is part the Picture Perfect Die. 

 

 Finally, a few splatter seems to do the magic for me. I hope that you find things/people that make you smile. My constant smile-maker is now my grandson. 😁😇

Diecut with a Great Impression

 Hello friends!

 

Hope you are doing well. I am popping in to share a card that I made with the Altenew card-stock release from last year.  The die-cutting design ideas are relevant to all and are still worth sharing.

 

 

 

Supplies: Altenew Card-stock (Caramel Toffee, Misty Moor, Olive, Marshland)

World In Bloom Die, Fall Harvest Fresh Dy Ink

 

 Let's start with the feature product. I used Zero-waste Chocolate Flower Die.

To make an imprint. Instead of die-cutting, I added a piece of shim (part of the die-cut machine that you have already owned). Once you run it through the die-cut machine, you are left with an impression of the die without the die-cut pieces. The effect is almost like dry-embossing.

 

 

 

The rest of the process is rather straight-forward. I die cut all the floral pieces with the color card-stock and pieced all the elements together.

 

 

 To draw the eyes to the focal point and make the design more cohesive, I inked up the edges and the globe with med. brown ink color.

Happy Spring With a Flower Wreath Card

Happy April, friends!

 Now that Spring is officially here, it's time to take in that breathe a breath of fresh Spring air. I am happy to share a Spring-inspired flower wreath card.

 

I  am using Altenew Zero Waste Die for this floral design.

The wreath circle base was created from Altenew World in Bloom Die. You can use any circle die that you have based on the size of your choice.

 To add depth and interest, I decided to ink up the inner circle. Then I arranged the inked pieces from Altenew Zero Waste Die 

Noticed that you used a few gold elements (with the gold metallic card-stock such as THIS) in the floral pieces. A few splatter and sentiment were all what's needed to complete this Spring card.
