Diecut with a Great Impression

Hope you are doing well. I am popping in to share a card that I made with the Altenew card-stock release from last year.  The die-cutting design ideas are relevant to all and are still worth sharing.

 

 

 

Supplies: Altenew Card-stock (Caramel Toffee, Misty Moor, Olive, Marshland)

World In Bloom Die, Fall Harvest Fresh Dy Ink

 

 Let's start with the feature product. I used Zero-waste Chocolate Flower Die.

To make an imprint. Instead of die-cutting, I added a piece of shim (part of the die-cut machine that you have already owned). Once you run it through the die-cut machine, you are left with an impression of the die without the die-cut pieces. The effect is almost like dry-embossing.

 

 

 

The rest of the process is rather straight-forward. I die cut all the floral pieces with the color card-stock and pieced all the elements together.

 

 

 To draw the eyes to the focal point and make the design more cohesive, I inked up the edges and the globe with med. brown ink color.
