Virginia's Versatile Vases #6

Happy Friday!!

Today's is another series of Versatile Vases. I know I can keep going with this series, but am afraid that it has come to an end. However, never say never...if I feel creative about using the vases, I will. So you will not see the end of this.

You might be wondering how I came about with this design?
I started out with extra leaves stamped in Grey on my desk....
What to do with them?  Well, yes, put them in a vase!
 

I also added the white dots to make the leaves stand out more.

I also used the silver pen to color the leaves.

The silver gel pen really make the grey design shine!

 I tell you, sometimes it's al  about the little things!  

It really is a good idea to use the SAME stamp that you use for the focal point AND for for the background. In this case, I used a light green ink and partially stamped the background for depth and interest.

Altenew May 2019 Stamp/Die/Stencil/Ink/Enamel Pin Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

1. featured products: Ornate Foliage Stamp/Die Bundle, A Walk in the Woods Stamp Set, Enchanted Gold Pigment Ink, Obsidian Pigment Ink, Fancy Greetings Stamp Set 

From this close-up, you can see the new ink glistening. 
To accentuate the gold in the background "A Walk in the Woods", I also stamped part of the petals in Enchanted Gold Pigment Ink.

 I decided to die cut the center with Halftone Squares and made the focal image pop even more.



 The ink and shine are absolutely splendid! It is quite rich, juicy and also dries very quickly.



 2. featured products: Dare to Dream, Ombre Alpha
 

These tile-like images are fun to stamp with.
You can stamp them as it (which I did here) OR you can layer two or more images!

I stamped "U ROCK" from Ombre Alpha. How cool is that set?
Can you see the rainbow color possibility?

3. featured products:  Dotted Swirls Debossing Die, Ornate Foliage Stamp/Die Bundle, Fancy Greetings Stamp Set

Let's talk about the background first... the de-bossing cover die is DIVINE! I ran it through grey pattern paper from Essential Rock Collection and it is stunning.


I then stamped and die cut the Ornate Foliage in Sweet Moments Paper Pack.
For the perfect sentiment, I reached for "sending hugs" from Fancy Greetings.

 
 4. featured products: Everlasting Happiness Stamp Set

The gold-embossed image on vellum speaks volumes! I took out the Altenew Artist Markers (Set D and Set E) and colored the back of the flowers and you get this elegant look. It doesn't get any more simpler than that.


For the sentiment, I stamped "Everlasting Happiness Together" in Essential Rock Collection.
This card is perfect for anniversary, engagement, weddings... etc.



5. featured products: Fine Bouquet Die , Fancy Greetings Stamp Set 


How exquisite is this delicate Fine Bouquet Die?
 I only needed to die cut it with the Gold Foil Card Stock and it looks like a million bucks!



I colored the images with the Artist Brush Markers on Bristol paper and made the colors as vibrant as possible.

Favorite Elements

Hello friends!

If you have been crafting/card-making, I am sure that you all have your favorite elements in your card designs. I have a few and today's card is all about my favorite elements! 

I am listing the elements below for your easy reference:

1. background stamp: OK, so I love the Flower Bed Background stamp and didn't think I used it enough. I decided to stamp it on the grey stripe from Essential Rock Paper Pack.
At first, I thought it might be too busy, but with the grey color, it is not bad at all.

2. die cut: when you have the coordinating die from "Weekend Doodles", you have to use it! I took the easy way out by stamping the wreath on pattern paper. The colors really gave this design a "lift"!

3. pattern paper: you noticed that I used Live your Dream paper pack and Essential Rock Paper Pack.  When you feel slightly intimidated by the busy pattern paper, why not opt for subtle and simple colros and patterns?  

4. stencil and embossing paste: the textures from embossing past is just too fun. I applied the Altenew Embossing Paste and Nuvo Pure Sheen Glitter
over "Feeling Dotty Stencil ". I highly recommend this Dina Wakely Ranger Media Tool as it makes stenciling much more controllable when it comes to spread paste in a small area.

6. embellishments/twines: remember twines? I nearly forgot that I have 3 HUGE rolls of twines that have been collecting dust on my shelf! Around 7-8 years ago, twines were on trend and like everyone else in crafting, I jumped on the bandwagon and ordered myself 3 HUGE rolls!!! Well, sad to say, I have never used them much since. I decided to use twines for the embellishments since this card is somewhat "rustic"! Hope to see the twines back on trend again (wink!).

Small Die of the Month from Spellbinders

Hello friends!

Are you ready to join my for a ride?

I am excited to share a fun  card that I created with Spellbinders Die of the Month.

This die set came with MANY pieces. I almost thought I will not be able to manage it....



It turned out that it was easier than I thought. The piece may be small, but each one of them is all part of Vespa and is easy to assemble!

Previously, I made my own color paper with Altenew Shimmer Mist Spray. I put all the pieces through die cut machine with my DIY gold/orange/coral paper. I decided to use black card stock for all the trims. As you can see, they do go so well together!
The hardest part? Tying those balloons with strings!

I love how this turned out! Hope you enjoy this little "ride" with me!
