Hibiscus Garden 3 D Die

Hello friends!
If you are here for the Altenew January Release Blog Hop, please click here.

One of the new release trend from Altenew, it is the 3D dies!
Altenew is well-known for stamp-layering flowers, and now the 3D floral layering dies sets are
simply the next best things.
s

When it comes to 3 D flower die, this Hibiscus Garden 3 D Die is IT!
wishing you the best-001

I had a grand time assembling these 3 D Hibiscus!
wishing you the best (2)

The inserts from the guide was very easy to follow.
My paper came from my own Altenew Ink-Sprayed paper!
The ink sprays I used  are listed at the end of the post.
wishing you the best-003

I love the details from the leaves and thought it would be cool to incorporate a stenciled background.
wishing you the best

I only used the upper portion of the stencil and that was enough to add details to the intricate Hibiscus images.
wishing you the best-002

A summary:
1 create colorful paper with Altenew ink spray, let dry overnight
2. start die-cutting the pieces (while watching my favorite shows)
3. assemble the leaves and hibiscus and glue them with Multi Medium Glue
4. create a stenciled background
5 adhere the hibiscus
6. stamp the sentiment and embellish

It is VERY do-able! Hibiscus 3D Die is absolutely one of a kind!
The result is absolutely amazing!
Thanks so much for stopping by!

Altenew January 2019 Stamp/Die/Stencil Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

Hello friends!
Warning: Super-heavy photo post
s
Yay, it's January Release Blog Hop from Altenew!
I am super excited to share 4 projects with you.
If you arrive from the blog of Seeka,  you are in the right place!

All the details about this blog hop, please visit Altenew's Card Blog and Scrapbook Blog.

First up, let's start with something classy and elegant.
Featured products:  Stain Glass Stamp and Fancy Frames Stamp & Die Bundle

I didn't expect these two sets work so well together, but they do!
The lace stamp is so intricate and gorgeous! The Stain Glass stamp set is very thoughtfully-designed.

Altenew-FancyFrameDie-StainGlassWindow-Virginia#1

Isn't the stain glass image amazing? I silver-embossed the outline 3 times. Therefore, you see the very prominent silver edges.

Altenew-FancyFrameDie-StainGlassWindow-Virginia#4

As for the frame, I stamped the delicate frame in Turquoise and then dry-embossed it with the die and tan embossing mat. This creates a very subtle letter press effect.

Altenew-FancyFrameDie-StainGlassWindow-Virginia#2

I also added a few droplets of Nuvo and sequins. VERY classy, huh?

Featured products:  Floral Heart Frame Die
Isn't this die absolutely divine!?
 Altenew-FloralHeartFrameDie-Virginia#1

I love stretching the use of dies. So like my previous project, I dry-embossed the heart (with the tan embossing mat) to add extra textures.

Altenew-FloralHeartFrameDie-Virginia#2

How does that piece of red-ish die cut come about? I sprayed Altenew's Ink Spray to create rich and vibrant paper. Once dry, I made the die cut and adhered it to the black card stock.

Altenew-FloralHeartFrameDie-Virginia#3
This design is fabulous for all occasions. All you need is to change up the sentiment.

Featured products: Radial Cover Die
This die is truly one of a kind. I can think of so many ways of using it....
  Altenew-RadialHeartsCoverDie-Virginia#1

Again, I started out by creating a colorful  paper with Watercolor Brush Markers.

Altenew-RadialHeartsCoverDie-Virginia#3

I then made the die cut and popped two gold hearts back in and one in the center.
It really is easy yet so effective!  Altenew's Gold Foil Card stock is amazing. I highly recommend it.

Altenew-RadialHeartsCoverDie-Virginia#4

The cover die is so neat that you can fit every piece back like a puzzle.
Speaking of puzzle, wouldn't it be cool to send the extra heart pieces along with the card, so the receiver will get to play with the puzzle?

Featured products: Wonderland Stamp Die and Mask Stencil Bundle
This is one amazing set. The stencil is so thin that it will not leave you a white edge while stamping.
Altenew-WonderlandMaskStencil-Virginia#1

This gorgeous set is a must-have if you love stamping techniques!
The masked stencil, die are amazing arsenal when creating intricate and detailed designs.
Altenew-WonderlandMaskStencil-Virginia#3

I started out  in stamping the large bloom and colored it with Altenew Artist Markers (Set E).
With the positive mask, I covered the large flower and stamped the smaller flowers.
While doing that, I inked up the background with Citrus Lemon and Feeling Dotty Stencil.
Altenew-WonderlandMaskStencil-Virginia#4

I finished it off with the sentiment with Golden Edge Washi Tape.
What do you think? I love love this set and I hope that you do, too!

I also want to mention that if you love many items of this new release, you must check out my future posts!  Here is what's coming up next.

5 Ingredients for a Card

Hello friends!

I am popping in to share a card idea that was swimming in my head.
By using 5 ingredients, I came up with this colorful love-themed card.

My idea was to "mix up the alphabet dies" and create my own sentiment.
I strongly encourage you to do that if you have various sets or sizes of alphabet dies or stamps.
This is where your originality comes through!

There are 5 basic ingredients in this card as I break down the process in 5 steps.
love you

1. Dies:  Mega Alphabet Dies is, well, tremendously helpful when it comes to home decor or designs with bold sentiment. I use just the Mega L Alphabet Die here.

2. Stamps: I stamped Floral Alphabet Stamps ( Dies)
on the pattern paper. Since the paper surface is a bit slick, I also clear-embossed the alphabet.

love you-002

3. pattern paper: Enchanting Washes Paper Pad has some really beautiful and vibrant paper.
The letter "L" and "ove" are all die cut from that paper collection.

love you-001

 4. Washi Tape: The Painted Fantasy Washi Tape goes perfectly well with Enchanting Washes Paper Pad . I also added Golden Edge for that extra Wow factor.
love you-003

5.  embossing powder: Clear and white embossing ink were used (see links below). The whit-embossed "you" is from Sweetest Peas.

Scrapbook.com is having a card-making sale.

More Water-Coloring (& a Light Bulb Moment)

Hello friends!
I am popping in with a quick post.

Today's card was watercolored (with the Altenew 24 Pan Set) a while ago...
s

Recently, I added a few touches with the Watercolor Brush Markers (Winter Wonderland).

best wishes
After all the water-coloring, I added some details.
Namely, I water-colored the silver borders!!
Ding---> Stretch your stencils! Use one part of the stencil and add details!

With the Classy Stripe Stencil, I only use ONE STRIPE to color in the border with silver metallic brush marker.
best wishes -001
You may see some silver splatter?
Those were added along with the silver border.

 best wishes (2)

I used a different stamp set for the sentiment (Dandelion Wishes). It fits perfectly!
best wishes

Lastly, I want to thank you for your continuing support.

DIY Coloring Card

Hello friends!
It is my turn to share a project with you over Altenew Card Blog.
Today's project is a DIY coloring card.
Basically, you can stamp any design to create your coloring pages for a card.
I am using Wispy Begonia Stamp/Die Bundle as my example.
s

As the scale is simple and smaller, it is very do-able.
With the availability of two sets of Altenew Watercolor Brush Markers (Spring Garden and Winter Wonderland), I find myself keep reaching out for them to do quick water-coloring. The lovely Wispy Begonia Stamp/Die Bundle has simple yet intricate outline stamps. This set is perfect for any types of coloring.

Altenew-WispyBegonia-Virginia#2

Firstly, let’s talk about the composition. When you stamp a design, it is a good idea to start with the largest and most prominent image first. I stamped the yellow Begonia with Warm Sunshine Crisp dye Ink. With the coordinating die cut piece as masks, I then stamped the leaves and another Begonia. I like to keep flower arrangement in a cluster and that is what I did here.
Altenew-WispyBegonia-Virginia#3

I usually do the “Wet-on-Wet” approach when coloring larger images. That means I first applied tiny bit of water first, then I applied the watercolor brush colors. Once the colors mix, you can just sit back and relax and enjoy the simple water-coloring. The sentiment was stamped in Embossing Ink Pad and then embossed in Pure White Embossing Powder.
Altenew-WispyBegonia-Virginia#2

Once I finished coloring the flowers, I applied Gray color to the background. I used Halftone Stencil as a guide and added Silver Metallic Watercolor. This is a rather safe and controlled way to add some seemingly random spots to the background.  A piece of grey card stock (Celebrations 6×6 Paper Pad) and Rock Collections Enamel Dots are the right embellishment for this colorful design.

Altenew-WispyBegonia-Virginia#4

I hope today’s card makes you want to create your own watercolor cards! Thank you so much for stopping by!

Wispy Begonia is a smaller stamp set and that makes it more affordable, too.
Hope you like today's post! It will be much appreciated if you stop by Altenew Card Blog to leave me some love! You also get to be eligible for the monthly $15 Gift Certificate giveaway!

Another Take on Handpicked Bouquet

Hello friends!

When you know that you can't stop playing with a certain stamp set, you know it is a GOODIE.
Handpicked Bouquet is just that.
s
Handpicked Bouquet is so popular that it was sold out in major online shops.
( edited )It is now back in stock over Altenew.
The dies are out of stock once again over Altenew.

Scrapbook.com has the stamp here and die here.

you are the sweetest (2)

I am enamored with this set and just have one more card to share (hope you don't mind!).

you are the sweetest
I Incorporated one of my favorite things in this design: dry-embossing with the die!
 (Coni, you will like this!)
Following the dry-embossed outlines, I colored part of the background.
you are the sweetest-002

For the extra shiny touches, I applied some shine with Metallic Silver Brush Markers (from Winter Wonderland Collection). I love the sentiment from "Cake Love". It is an older stamp set, but is full of lovely images and sweet sentiment.

you are the sweetest-001
