Frilled Petals in Two Ways!

Happy Easter, friends!
I have been enjoying some family time with my two grown kids and my daughter's fiancee Greg. Now that they live away from home, it is all the more precious to be around them. After today, they are going back to where they work and live. Life goes on and the card blog must continue...

I am popping in to share two cards with one stamp set "Frilled Petals"
http://shrsl.com/1kdqm

The cards I made were the samples of "Make & Take" from ScrapFest over a week ago.
To keep the flow of workshop/Make & Take pace going, I needed to keep the design simple.
These two samples helped the participants to re-create and can follow easily.

Here are the samples that I created.
ScrapFest 2019

This set also comes with the mask stencil. I think they are awesome to have if you love the images! I only used stamps and dies for my projects.

The image was colored with Watercolor Brush Markers. Since I didn't have the right card stock, the coloring was very limited in shades and contrast.  Eventually, we switched to  the alcohol ink-based Artist Markers. It is MUCH better.
thank you

This one requires the layered stamping. I used the latest die from April release "Fancy Hello" and pattern paper! This really is fast and effective!
Frilled Petals

I also applied a piece of Washi and they helped ground the image!
Here are cards that the participants created at the "Make & Take".

Hope that you find this interesting and helpful with the stamp set like "Frilled Petals".
These are the happy crafters who stopped by the Altenew booth and created their gorgeous cards!

Seeing their happy photos make me so proud and happy.

Combining a Background Stamp with Solid Stamps

Hello friends!

If the title of this post confuses you....
Please come check out this post and take a look.
I am using the background stamp "Delicate Flower Bed"
w
and "A Study in Watercolor" together!

http://shrsl.com/1k6mo

keep on shining

Combining Solid stamps "A Study in Watercolor"and Outline Stamps "Delicate Flower Bed" is a fun way to create an intricate pattern.

keep on shining-001

I started out with stamping the solid stamps with various inks. You do have to wait till the ink dry (you can use the heat gun for this purpose). I was too impatient, so I embossed the solid stamps.

keep on shining

Now I can go ahead and stamp the outline stamps. Gold-embossing works beautifully in this card.

keep on shining -001

I highly recommend A Study in Watercolor and Delicate Flower Bed.
Both stamp sets are awesome on its own or...  you can use both like I do here!

Color-Layering with Distress Oxide

Hello friends!
I am sharing a super TWEET and bright card today.

wishing you the best-002

I am usingJust Lookingas my example.
s
(all products are listed at the end of this post with my affiliate links. thank you)

Not only I stamped the birdie in Distress Oxide, I also used Distress Oxide for the background.
The ink blends so nicely together. When the ink dries, you can layer one color over another. In this case, you see the colors overlapping and they create a very pleasant color mix.
This also avoids the muddle up.... unless you really like brown!!?
wishing you the best

I started out with stamping the birdie in Distress Oxide.
I then made the die cut (Cut & Stitch Circle) and applied nearly the same colors. This resulted a colorful background.  I used Bristol paper and made sure it dries before I added another color each time.

This color-layering method also applies with regular Distress Inks.
wishing you all the best

I also added the leaf element and Burlap Edge Die
Since the images are full of colors, I kept the rest very simple.

wishing you all the best-001
I hope that you find today's post helpful.

I am popping in with a quick post on "Weekend Doodles"

you make my heart happy-001

This set comes with many fun and whimsical images.
I love watercoloring the image, but you can also use Artist Markers to color!
you make my heart happy

I happen to have a piece of Watercolor card stock that I created with Watercolor Brush Markers. I then white-embossed and die cut the wreath image.
you make my heart happy-002

As for the background, I stamped in various blue shades to create the gradient effect. Once I finished stamping, I added splatter with the Brush Markers. I topped it off with the wreath image over and added a piece of silver DMC thread and heart-shape enamel dots.

you make my heart happy-003

Altenew April 2019 Stamp/Die/Stencil/Paper Pack Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

Hello friends!
Warning: Super-heavy photo post
Yay, it's April Release Blog Hop from Altenew!
If you arrive from the blog of Ashlea Cornell, you are in the right place!
All the details about this blog hop, please visit Altenew Card Blog and/or Altenew Scrapbook Blog

I am super excited to share 5 projects (yes, you read that right...FIVE) with you.
I had a hard time narrow them down because this release is absolutely stellar!
Let's start with one of my favorites!

1. A Study in Watercolor and Fancy Hello Die
Altenew-AStudyInWatercolorStamp-Virginia#1

I love multi-color stamping and that is what I did with this stamp set.
Each time as I stamped, I picked up a different color.

Altenew-AStudyInWatercolorStamp-Virginia#2
With MISTI, this can be done so effortlessly.

Altenew-AStudyInWatercolorStamp-Virginia#3

The Fancy Hello Die is simply divine. I used the new paper collection Essential Rock Collection
which gives the die a gradient effect.

2. Geometric Landscape Stamp Set
This geometric background is versatile with any type of designs and technique.
Altenew-GeometricLandscapeStamp-Virginia#1

I decided to create an encouragement card. Silver-embossing is perfect for this. With each color, I applied inks to one triangle at a time with the masking paper (I used scraps). It may seem laborious, but it really is not.
Altenew-GeometricLandscapeStamp-Virginia#3

The white part were left uncolored. I applied Pico White Embellisher and once it's dry, the surface became super white and shiny!

3. Bundle of Joy Stamp & Die Set and Essential Rock Collection
Next we have a very sweet yet sophisticated welcome Baby Card.
Altenew-BundleOfJoy-EssentialRockCollection-Virginia#1

The paper from Essential Rock Collection
I was inspired by the paper and decided to follow the line and did a diagonal design.
Altenew-BundleOfJoy-EssentialRockCollection-Virginia#2

For the stars, you can simply use the dies and cut out each star. I love my inks so much that I did stamp and die cut all of the stars!
Altenew-BundleOfJoy-EssentialRockCollection-Virginia#3

The diagonal sentiment really compliments this design.

4. Summer Garden 6x6 Paper Pad and Weekend Doodles Stamps & Die Bundle
I must say that these two items are the MUST-HAVE.

Altenew-SummerGardenPaperPad-WeekenddoodleStampDie-Stamp-Virginia#1

The Weekend Doodles Stamps & Die Bundle is SO pretty and gorgeous.... I love the entire set and I can see myself creating with this one with various medium.

Altenew-SummerGardenPaperPad-WeekenddoodleStampDie-Stamp-Virginia#2

Summer Garden 6x6 Paper Pad is packed with lovely patterns and colors. After stamping and die -die-cutting, this card is complete! It is so fun to play with stamps and pattern paper!

5. Delicate Flower Bed Stamp Set

The name says it all!  This large background stamp does have very very fine and detail lines!
Altenew-FancyHelloDie-DelicateFlowerBedStamp-Virginia#1
The white-embossed iamge allows me to color ease. I used the Watercolor Brush Markers to color the images. You can use Artist markers or any type of Water-coloring for this background. OR, simply stamp and use it has a subtle backdrop.

Altenew-FancyHelloDie-DelicateFlowerBedStamp-Virginia#2

I added two more dies from Fancy Hello Die for added dimension.
