Hello friends!
I am happy to share a super colorful card.
You must know by now...
I am NO master in coloring. It is definitely not my forte.
I am not ashamed to admit that. 😆
I am not ashamed to admit that. 😆
However, that doesn't mean I can't create decent colorful cards.
With some basic concept and tricks, you can easily color something like this with Distress Oxide.

There are just three steps in creating this card:
1. emboss: white-embossing powder is the #1 arsenal when it comes to detailed stamps like Floral Bliss
3. details: add ink splatter with Wink of Stella (squeeze the pen nozzle slightly and small amount of ink will ooze out)

Gold Wink of Stella may not be perfect for coloring, but is great with adding splatter!
I used nearly every colors from Distress Oxide.
What's all the fuss about Distress Oxide? They simply blend and mix better like no other inks!
I love ink-blending with Distress Oxide!

If I can do simple coloring, so can you!
Hope that you are feeling inspired.
On a personal note, Dr. John and I have been traveling vicariously through our son David's backpacking trip to Europe. They started planning on this grad trip since January and the group of 9 took trains, planes, automobiles and ferry to visit 6 countries in 28 days. I am impressed with the millennial generation since they are so tech-savvy and know how to get the best value out of their limited budget. Being young with a wanderlust is a good thing. We also asked David and friends to be vigilant and careful as they travel. My heart goes out to people in London and UK who are hurting from the attacks. The traveling must go on as I will do my share this summer.
Here are the snapshot that David shared.
David got himself a piece of Sachertorte-to-go in Wien (Vienna).
BTW here is a SWEET deal over Simon Says Stamp.
To celebrate Donut Day, this stamp set I love Donuts is on sale for $9.99 (this weekend only).
Thanks for stopping by!

Absolutely stunning card Virginia! Love, love, love! It is beautiful.
And wow! I'd be traveling vicariously through David too. Looks amazing!
The stamping in white is a 'must-do' for this stamp, yours is superb
Oh my...such an incredibly beautiful card. Though you say the coloring was easy, it certainly doesn't look like it. This may need a frame so you can hang it on the wall.
Hope David didn't buy that car he's standing next to...the import fees would eat into his budget a lot. Still, getting a taste of sachertorte from Vienna must be like heaven. As my waistline will attest, I judge all travel by the food. Glad he's staying alert and staying safe.
Beautiful floral thank you card, Virginia! Looks like David had a wonderful trip!!
This card turned out so beautifully! So full of pretty color, and those stamps are whimsical and lovely. Such a wonderful card. I'm glad that in spite of the threat of danger, David and his friends have decided to explore the world. I'm sure he'll find that there is more good out there than bad. I'll pray for their safety as they travel. Bev
Beautifully done, my friend - you've given this a tropical feel with these colors! So good to see your update and pics of David!
This is fresh and lovely Virginia!! Terrific pics of your son's trip too!
Oh wow, this coloring is magical! Love it!!
And Vienna is also an awesomy city, I was there a few years ago and yes, Sachertorte and Scnhitzel (not together!) are must even as the Mozardkugeln (chocolate)!! Yumm!!
Beautiful Virginia. Now I have the stamp set I'm on the look out for ideas. This is a stunner. David's trip sounds amazing. I can't believe how grown up he is now...
Fantastic card! You use the stamp perfectly.
Beautiful card and thanks for all the tips.
So colorful!!
WOW Virginia, your colouring is AMAZING! This card is simply beautiful! Wonderfully done!
Beautiful, beautiful card. I've been trying out Oxide ... need more trying.
Just beautiful! ... I love it.
This card is gorgeously coloured, Virginia! Your colour choices are simply perfect for this multi-floral image!
I'm the same - not a good colorist but with this stamp it's hard to mess up!!! I just bought it the other day and haven't set it down yet. Your son's trip looks so amazing - I'm so envious :)
I love how you colored these pretty blooms, Virginia! Actually, I think you ARE a Master at coloring, so I'm really impressed with this beautiful card!
Good for David to keep his travel plans despite the crazy world we live in! I will keep him and his friends (and you and Dr. John) in my prayers for safe and happy travels! Sending hugs, Barb xoxo
Virginia, this card is absolutely stunning! I'm so glad that I ran across someone else Pinterest save and clicked on the photo. I think I'm going to have to try your idea once I get another pack of ink blender refills.
