Hero Arts Studio Release

Hello friends!

I am back to share the latest Hero Arts Studio release.

Recently, Hero Arts asked me to create a few projects with their monthly subscriptions. To my delight, I said yes and today's post is featuring the Stamp & Cut of the Month.

About the Stamp and Die Cut subscription: The May "New Subscriber" registration window is now open. Join May 1st to the 27th and receive the pictured kits.

We made some changes to Hero Studio! A la carte kits will now only be available for purchase the following month, if there are left-overs. Don't miss out on this month's designs - join now!

Auto-renewing monthly subscription now on the 3rd of each month. This subscription option includes a premium quality clear stamp set with coordinating dies, unique each month.

• Premium USA made 4” x 6” clear set
• 11 Coordinating Frame Cuts for images and sentiments
• Exclusive artist designed sets each month
• $27.50 subscription price

$38.98 value! Includes clear set, coordinating frame cuts plus FREE SHIPPING! (USA only)

For my design, I stamped and cut all of the images from the May Stamp/Die subscription. I colored the images with Distress Watercolour Pencils.
I love the ease and control of these watercolour pencils. Also, the familiarity of the Distress Ink names make it effortless to reach for various shades and colors.

I envision that you can use as many or few images as you like and achieve great results. I did use a dark color cardstock for the base. The colours popped even more this way. You can find the Scrapboook.com's cardstock here.  As mentioned in my posts before, I love using these A2 size card-stock.  The varieties and quality of these colour card-stock are of great value.

I will be back for more inspiration from the Hero Arts May Subscriptions. Thank you for stopping by!

Add A Special Touch

Hello friends!

I am sharing a card with a special background. Today's post is to remind you the versatility of your background stamps.

Unfortunately, this background stamp/ kit is no longer available. I am using it purely as an example.  This project was part of an IG hop last summer. Since I love it so much, I'd like to share more here in the blog.

 PK-Chocolate Flowers (Stamp + Die+ Stencil)

Altenew Project Kit: Chocolate Flowers (Stamp + Die+ Stencil) -out of stock

Let's take a look at the stamp set (with squares)

PK-Chocolate Flowers (Stamp + Die+ Stencil) (3)

I stamped it as part of the background and then also stamp it on the back of the glitter paper. I then cut a few squares and added them to the background.

PK-Chocolate Flowers (Stamp + Die+ Stencil) (2)

Another option is simply stamp it on a piece of cardstock and then use that is the template to cut out the designs as you see fit.

Last tip: be sure that you have all odd numbers of your elements. I have 7 pieces of squares and 3 sets of flowers.   I hope that you find this post informative and helpful. I'd appreciate that you shop your craft supplies via HERE Thanks for stopping by!

It's Easy to Make an Impression

Hello friends!

Hope you are enjoying the finer weather in your neck of the woods. I am starting to think about outdoor planters. I am not a gardener, however, planting is always getting me excited in Spring.

Take this Traveller's Atlas (Altenew) Embossing Folder as an example. It has super small and detailed impression. I tried a few types of card-stock and find that the metallic card-stock proves to be most effective.

I am sharing a card that can be easily impressed by all. What do I mean here?

Altenew-Picture Perfect Die Set-Traveler's Atlas 3D Embossing Folder-World In Bloom Layering Die Set

It is effortlessly effective to use the right card-stock with dry-embossing folder. This card is a good example for that.I mounted the image and inlaid it inside the Picture Perfect Die.

Altenew-Picture Perfect Die Set-Traveler's Atlas 3D Embossing Folder-World In Bloom Layering Die Set-002

To make the frame more appealing, I added World In Bloom Die.

I do love the World in Bloom Die as it offers many possibilities (the floral elements, circles, globe... etc.). If you are discerning about make die purchasing, you need to look at each individual pieces and think of the designs that you can do. That's when I make the decision ...to buy or not to buy!

The sentiment "Smile" is part the Picture Perfect Die.

Finally, a few splatter seems to do the magic for me. I hope that you find things/people that make you smile. My constant smile-maker is now my grandson. 😁😇

Diecut with a Great Impression

 Hello friends!

Hope you are doing well. I am popping in to share a card that I made with the Altenew card-stock release from last year.  The die-cutting design ideas are relevant to all and are still worth sharing.

Let's start with the feature product. I used Zero-waste Chocolate Flower Die.
To make an imprint. Instead of die-cutting, I added a piece of shim (part of the die-cut machine that you have already owned). Once you run it through the die-cut machine, you are left with an impression of the die without the die-cut pieces. The effect is almost like dry-embossing.

The rest of the process is rather straight-forward. I die cut all the floral pieces with the color card-stock and pieced all the elements together.

To draw the eyes to the focal point and make the design more cohesive, I inked up the edges and the globe with med. brown ink color.

Lastly, I appreciate your comments and visits more than ever before. I hope your part of the world is keeping calm and carrying on in the midst of chaos of current affairs.

Happy Spring With a Flower Wreath Card

Happy April, friends!

Now that Spring is officially here, it's time to take in that breathe a breath of fresh Spring air. I am happy to share a Spring-inspired flower wreath card.

 sending hugs

I  am using Altenew Zero Waste Die for this floral design.

The wreath circle base was created from Altenew World in Bloom Die. You can use any circle die that you have based on the size of your choice.

sending hugs -001

To add depth and interest, I decided to ink up the inner circle. Then I arranged the inked pieces from Altenew Zero Waste Die

sending hugs -003

Noticed that you used a few gold elements (with the gold metallic card-stock such as THIS) in the floral pieces. A few splatter and sentiment were all what's needed to complete this Spring card.

Finally, I want to THANK YOU for leaving me such kind and thoughtful comments in my last post regarding my long absence. With your kindness and encouragement, I will try my best to post whenever i can. Your presence mean a lot to me.

Thanks for stopping by!

A Milestone Birthday Card

Hello friends!

It's been a LONG while since I last shared. All is well and all is calm. 😀

The reason of my absence is that I simply am enjoying non-obligated card-making and crafting with my grandson. Today I am popping in to share a s milestone birthday card. Perhaps this card will inspire you to look at your number die in a fresh cool way.

HB

This card was made for my son David's birthday. Yup, my "baby" turned 30!

HB -001

I went for the simple and clean design and made the number stand out by utilizing the "Partial Die--cutting" techniques.

HB -002

You do not, obviously, do the Partial Die-cutting and just pop-dot the numbers to your card front. However, I find that it adds that special touch with the inlaid feature.

Lastly, with the recent changes of trades in this part of the world, it is extremely difficult to earn affiliate sales. I will no longer providing product links. Sorry! However, you can still use my sidebar links to shop through Scrapbook. com.

I need to step back and use my time wisely. Personal time is always a good idea. I am keeping up with health, crafting and family time. I am also organizing a Mother's Day event for local young mothers. I will pop in from time to time to post projects.

Please leave me a comment and say hi. Thanks for stopping by!

One-of-a-Kind Butterfly Card

 Hello friends!

The air is cooler and the leaves are starting to turn colors! Fall is definitely in the air. I am sharing an unique butterfly card today.
Thanks to its intricate die design, this butterfly die can be as unique as it can be. Spellbinders Peacock Butterfly  (shop Spellbinders here, Simon Says Stamp here)
is heavenly!

you are fabulous

I did spend some time adding the layers and details with the butterfly. However, this process is rather therapeutic and fun.

fabulous

This Peacock Motif 3D Embossing Folder background truly is perfect with the butterfly die.

fabulous

Don't forget to add a bit of shine onto the dies. I used gold paper for the accent and I think it totally works!

With the color paper from Scrapbook. com, it makes the layering task easy!

TWO Different Ways with a Globe Die

 Hello friends!

Hope your August is going swimmingly well. I felt that I took another blog break and....

here are are,  August is nearly over and so is the summer!

World In Bloom (Altenew shop)

World in Bloom (Scrapbook. com )

World In Bloom (Simon Says Stamp)

I was part of the Altenew Instagram August Release Blog Hop last week and shared a few projects. Today's post is compiling the two projects with the same die set.

Altenew-World in Bloom Layering Die Set-Traveler’s Atlas 3D Embossing Folder -001

I totally enjoyed creating this card. Each element was fun to add. There are a few techniques involved with this project: color-blending, die-cutting and dry-embossing.

Altenew-World in Bloom Layering Die Set-Traveler’s Atlas 3D Embossing Folder -002

To create the globe, I simply decided on the colors and textures first. I then went ahead to die cut.

Altenew-World in Bloom Layering Die Set-Traveler’s Atlas 3D Embossing Folder -003

As you can see that there are world map on the globe. That was because I took out the circle die and ran it with the Traveler's Atlas 3D Embossing Folder. (shop Scrapbook. com HERE)

Altenew-World in Bloom Layering Die Set-Traveler’s Atlas 3D Embossing Folder

Once dry-embossed, I fit each piece and assembled them like a puzzle.

To make the globe more interesting, I added floral dies around it.  The gold stand and trim make this card extra special. Isn't the card sweet?

Altenew- Volcano Lake Cardstock-Lagoon Cardsstock -Paperbag Cardstock-Buttercream Cardstock

The 2nd project is focusing on the use of color card-stock. The newly release Altenew Color Card-stock made this an easier task. I used Volcano Cardstock and Lagoon Cardstock

Altenew- Volcano Lake Cardstock-Lagoon Cardsstock -Paperbag Cardstock-Buttercream Cardstock -001

First, I layered the color paper and then diecut the World In Bloom (Altenew shop)

By adding extra foam, I popped up the globe for extra dimension.

Altenew- Volcano Lake Cardstock-Lagoon Cardsstock -Paperbag Cardstock-Buttercream Cardstock

With the stand, I used Paper Bag Cardstock. The yellow (Butter Cream)

strip is from this collection also.

I hope that you enjoy seeing this post and my projects. Thank you so much for stopping by!
