Hello friends!
Now that winter has made us feel its presence, I am in the mood to create some wintery cards.
Today's project is one of those. To me, this cling stamp is so versatile to create any backdrop. For a chance, I thought it would be fun to create a snowy wintery night...
I started out with stamping the image in Cracked Pistachio.
Please don't ask me why "Cracked Pistachio"....
I must say, sometimes I stamp with an impulse!
Sometimes it works, sometimes it ruin things!
That's the "risk" that I am willing to take.
Once the image was stamped in Cracked Pistachio, I clear-embossed and started the Resist Emboss process. I even masked a circle die and created.... "the moon".
The "snow" was made possible with this Ranger Tim Holtz Splatter Brush.
With the splatter brush in hand, I flicked the white watercolor paint in one direction.
After the white paint dried, I added White Nuvo and White Pico Embelisher to make the snow even more white and 3-D.
In the end, I am really glad that I took a "bold" move and inked up the sky in Black Soot. I believe this is the first time that I have done with the sky....
Creating cards like this may seem intimidating, but with time and patience, you will be able to achieve an artsy look with stamping.
I have one more version created with this stamp Restful (Penny Black) and it looks completely different with this one I share today. Hope you are intrigued to see the other one...
Thanks for stopping by!

This is a work of art Virginia! I like the wintery scene you've created!
Just gorgeous Virginia.
Gorgeous scene!!
I agree with one of the people commenting earlier who said your card is a work of art. I love how you used the Distress inks, especially the black soot. The moon on the dark background with the snow is striking!
I must say your impulsivity worked for me. Really eye-catching use of that stamp. Keep it up!
Wow, Virginia. This is.....just... Wow.
Let me say, I get cold just looking at this card. Brrrr! But it is very artsy and I think the black soot was an excellent choice...it really makes the moon and tree pop.
Another fabulous card! I love everything about it.
Beautiful winter scene. I like the moon.
