How to Add Artsy Ink Splatter Without the Mess

 Hello friends!

I am delighted to share an artsy project with ink splatter. It's my turn to share a project over Altenew Card Blog. I hope that you stop by!

The splattering effect is artsy and cool, however, it can be a bit messy and out of control. Well, fear not, with today's card project inspiration, you are going to LOVE the splattering and not be intimidated by it. Let's dive right in!

Add Ink Splatter to Handmade Card - Minus the Mess!

For my project, I am using the versatile  Climbing Leaves Stamp & Die Bundle.

Altenew File

I started out by stamping the leaves in Cerulean Skies 6 Crisp Dye Ink Mini Cube Set and Icy Lake 6 Crisp Dye Ink Mini Cube Set).

With the small ink blending brushes, I "colored" the leaves with various inks. A touch of Lime Crisp Dye Ink was added into the mix.

Next comes the fun part!

You can add ink splatter by using droplets of Lagoon Metallic Shimmer Ink Spray (or any color you desire). Simply tip the nozzle gently over the stamped and inked climbing leaves.

TIP! It will be helpful to try it out on a piece of scrap paper first.

You can also use a small paint brush for adding splatter. Once you are happy with the ink splatter, let dry and die cut with the Climbing Leaves Die Set.

To add some colors to the Fancy Hugs Die, I first adhered the lightest colored Washi Tape (Sea Shore Washi Tape Set) to a piece of white cardstock.

I then positioned the "Fancy Hugs" die and ran it through the Mini Blossom Die Cutting Machine. The die-cutting will eliminate the messy part of the ink splatter and leave you with the polished look that you go for. To add something extra special, I stamped "thinking of you" (trimmed off the word "always") from the Sentiment Strips 3 Stamp Set. I added both sentiments with an extra piece of (hugs) die and Foam Tape.

Here is another version with the same die. See post here.

I appreciate you

I hope that you are no longer afraid of adding ink splatter to your paper crafting project.

With the help of coordinating stamp and die, such as the Climbing Leaves Stamp & Die Bundle, your card project will turn out fabulous! Thank you so much for stopping by!

The blue and green look lovey together. Really like the way you partially colored the Hugs die cut. I never think about using Washi tape for that purpose.

beautiful Virginia. I must try using sprays for my splatter. I keep forgetting to do this.
