Year In Review with Altenew (My Favorite 4)!

  This pat year, I had numerous projects with Altenew products. Each one is special and dear to me. It is quite impossible to pick favorites. I picked out 4 projects that are most appealing to me, in terms of use of products, style, design and special features.

Adding Shine with Embossing Paste

 Hello friends!

I want to wish you a MERRY CHRISTMAS! Hope you and family are enjoying the holiday season. I know Christmas season can be hard for some people, please know that I am thinking of you.

Today's card was created with my leftover pieces. I am just a very practical person, I guess. 😁

I had two pieces of garland and one bow on my desk. I also wanted to try to new Embossing Paste that I got recently. About the embossing paste, I have my share of embossing paste in the past. However, I must say Simon Hurley's Embossing Paste is likely the best kinds out there. I used Golden Hour for the sentiment.

One Die Set, Three Looks!

I am still here! These days, I am taking a slower pace to share projects and enjoy spending time with family. After all, I have dedicated my life to this blog since 2009! It's hard to believe that it's been THAT long.... I am proud to say that I am still at it though. 😀

 This time, I am adding a little twist to the design... sometimes it's just fun to think outside the box a bit. Some elements of surprise is refreshing, right?

 You may have seen quite a few samples with this Small Die of The Month. However, this might be the first one that you see without the feet! What happened was... I find that assembling the feet was a bit fussy. Ding--> NO feet version!

 For the skirt, I added a bit of shine with the Holographic Paper Pad.

Quick Christmas Tags

  Hello friends!

I am popping in to share 3 Christmas tags! My daughter requested 3 tags for her Christmas gift-giving. I "whipped up" 3 tags within 5-10 minutes. 

The "trick"?

Watercolor paper,  

Terrific Tag Die Set (shop Altenew, Scrapbook. com, Simon Says Stamp)

 and Distress Oxide (Lumbard Jack, Rustic Wilderness) 

I sprayed a tiny bit of water mist over the tags first. Then I swiped the ink pad across and sprayed some more water. Let dry.

I used all the images from my Spellbinders Card kits stash. You can do so or use your own stamped and diecut images.Before you know it, you've got TAGS! Thanks for stopping by!

Clean and Simple Look

 Hello friends!

 I have another LOVE card to share. The die set does all the "work"! All you need is die-cut and assemble.  Today's project has a clean and simple look, but it has some really neat features!

 I started out with the umbrella panel. As you can see the middle piece has lots of stripes of colors.

 

Previously, I created stripey colorful paper (see here). Since I had a small piece left, I decided to incorporate it into the umbrella. he paper pads I used are from Scrapbook. com selections.

The lines of the border die give some textures in the background. Love that!

I kept the rest of the designs simple. The color scheme of the couples are the same. I did use the border die and adhered the word "love" onto the umbrella.

And of course, the inlaid diecut heart in the string and sequins make this project SHINE!

 The Holographic Paper Pad is my go-to paper. Hope you like this version. I have one more to share! So, stay tuned.  Here is my first version.

Feliz Navidad

 Hello friends!

I am popping in with a new Christmas sentiment from Alex Syberia release. It is also new to me as I do not ever have one like "Feliz Navidad".

I am also using Frosty Lace Stencil for the background. 

 This sentiment die has two component: the backing and the scripted sentiment. 

👉👉 To add colors to a sentiment like this, I created a colorful paper background. Namely, I cut strips of color paper from THIS and adhered them to copy paper. With that, I then ran it through the die cu machine. You then ended up with a colorful backing paper.

  Last but not least, I like to mention that THIS is my favorite color paper selection in 2023. 

💡💡And oh... to stretch this "Feliz Navidad" die a little longer... you can simply use "dad" for any Father-related projects!!

A Love-themed Card Without Sentiment

This die set is easy to figure out. The tiniest parts are the feet and shoes!

I decided to use 3 colors for the umbrella to make a big impact. The paper pads I used are from Scrapbook. com selections.

I mixed the white stringed hearts with the gold. The Holographic Paper Pad is my go-to paper for extra shine.

The effective way to add splatter is to use Distress Oxide ink like this.

Creating with Solid AND Outline Stamps

 Hello friends!

I am sharing TWO project that were 100% stamped. By using the solid and outline stamps, you can achieve a colorful and detailed result fairly easily. There are so many ways of approaching the use of solid and outline stamps.

This stamp set from Alex Syberia Designs provides a great example of solid and outline stamps.

I started out with stamping on a light rose color cardstock.

 

 Using colored cardstock is a good way to make the colors pop and help achieve a unique style and look.  I chose a light pink cardstock which makes my design look like a wallpaper!

 With the help of MISTI, I stamped all the flowers with Distress Oxide.  I then took a liberty to add triple white dots with pens like this. 

  I love the look of white dots in this. Unfortunately, I messed up one spot (top right) and there is no way of erasing the mark. So, I left it as is...... it is definitely handmade!

 My next card ? I decided to include the outline and kept the background white. I also stamped with the gold pigment ink like THIS.

 In this one, I added three silver dots in each cluster. 

 

 The details of these outlines really come through. LOVE the look, too!
