Snowflake Creation

Hello friends!
DSC_0050 (1)
I know it's too early for snow fall....

s

but this stamp set "Snowbursts" (Penny Black) is just too lovely to be ignored.
I love creating cards with stamps like this. They are so detailed and intricate-looking. You can't really go wrong with them. Mind you, I used only ONE stamp (top left) from this set. Can you imagine what a field day that will be if I used them all?

My card is nothing too special as I used the usual techniques such as Layered Stamping, Generational Stamping, and Emboss Resist. However, I had a epiphany moment as I write this post...

"Embossing is more than just embossing. It can be an embellishment!".

See those glitter on the snowflakes? They are embossed in Glitter Embossing Powder. So easy! Why didn't do that more often? Some of you might feel the same way!!?

These days, I like to think of more ways to use embossing powder. Because let's face it: are we really maximize the power of embossing powder? You bought the clear one, colored one and the glitter ones and those tantalizing textured ones. Are you using them enough?

And oh.... those Nuvo Crystal Droplets are the new kids in town for embellishments. I am amazed how round they stayed after applying. So cool.

This is really gorgeous Virginia! I love intricate snowflake images and these are so beautifully done. AND you are absolutely right about embossing powders, they are an embellishment. That is what kicks up the WOW factor on most cards!
So beautiful!

Awesome card. It is so peaceful. I really liked what you said about embossing being an embellishment. I am going to use more of my glitter powder. Thanks

This card is stunning, and I thought about your question and I do emboss a little during the year mostly sentiments but during the Christmas Holidays I emboss everything.
