The Wonderful Wonderland Stamp and Mask

Hello friends!
I am popping in with my 2nd take with a wonderful stamp set.
s

Wonderland Stamp & Die & Mask Stencil

There are several techniques used in this card: masking, stamping and ink-blending.
Masking plays a huge part in this design.

just a note-001
I started out with stamping the largest poppy.

I then used the negative mask and applied inks to the large poppy flower and colored the stem and leaves.

From there, I used the positive mask and stamped the sentiment (in the background), adding embossing paste. The masks really are so easy and effective as they are thin and yet sturdy.
Gone are the days of fussy-cutting your own masks!

I actually made a little boo-boo with the embossing paste!
When I removed the mask, I accidentally smeared the paste a little bit--grrrr. 😒
It was slightly messier than I had originally planned.
Since it didn't affect the main image, I decided to keep it as is.
Doing-over after all that careful stamping is not an option.😁

With the stamp and stencil, it's amazing to create the entire flat card with such dimensions and textures. Hope you are inspired!

Be still my heart. This is glorious. If you smudged the embossing paste, I can't see it and, believe me, I looked. Just had to get up close and personal to drink in all the elements of the card. Outstanding work.

Virginia, this is stunning. It was well worth all the effort! I can’t wait to try out the new masks. I love how you were able to add embossing paste after so much stamping. The colors you combined and blended are gorgeous. It’s amazing that you started with a single layer of plain paper and ended with so much dimension and texture!

Beautiful card. I am so excited about the stencils. I hope Altenew goes back and makes them for some of their more popular sets. They would be so welcome.

I love the colors you used on this flower and poppies are one of my favorite flowers too. Yes I bought the stamp but had not seen the stencils... now I have to get that too... what stencil did you use for the embossing paste? Thank you for sharing this.
