3 Easy Steps to Add Dimensions to a Stenciled Card

 Hello friends!

I am popping in to share a simple stenciled project. This stencil set is one of the EASIEST to use. As you may know, stenciled design can fall flat and non-dimensional. I am sharing three easy steps (and a bonus) to elevate your stenciled card to the next level!

Info about this stencil set: The Layered Vintage Floral Stencils is from the Flea Market Finds Collection by Cathe Holden. This set of three laying stencils together creates a lovely floral design full of flowers, greenery, and berry accents. Each stencil layer highlights each component: greenery, flowers, and berries/flower centers. So easy to use!

Flea Market Finds is Cathe Holden’s debut collection with Spellbinders. She utilizes her vast compilation of vintage treasures to help create collage, junk journaling, cardmaking and more for makers. Combine these wonderful stamps, papers, stickers, stencils, and shapes in this assortment to assemble delightful, vintage-inspired projects.

With this Layered vintage Floral Stencil, it is effortless to line up. Simply use the stencil outline as you guide and stencil away.  I am breaking down to three simple steps to add interest and dimensions.

Step 1. Gradient effect: Add shading and colors is likely the most effective way to make a stenciled card pop. When you stencil, do not be afraid of adding other colors into the same area.

2. All Those Layering: you may not want to cover up your hard stenciled work by adding more layers. However, that doesn't mean you can't. Simply add layers of paper underneath. Now your stenciled card will not fall flat!

3. Pop up the image/sentiment: you can simple pop up the image with foam tape and that gives the overall look dimensional.

BONUS Step: add embossing paste/glitter over your stenciled design. This gives the image extra textures and pops pops of color.

Now you see why the stencil card do not have to fall flat.... I hope that you find these tips helpful.
