How to Get Creative with The Sentiment

Hello friends!

I am sharing a happy and bright project with you. This card is part of the IG hop with Alex Syberia Designs.  

 Top Tip: to create a bright and colorful sentiment, you simply need a simple paper pad such as "Sunshine". By cutting up the paper into thin strips and line them up . I used a copy paper as backing.

Once you adhered the paper strips to the paper, then run it through the die cut machine as you normally do and voila--you get a super pretty and colorful sentiment. You can find "You Are Loved" HERE

 I used this cover die called Trendy Pattern Cover Die. As you can see, I added the silver squares die in between. The Holographic Paper Bundle truly is handy. I love the thin paper from the holographic paper which adds shine without the mess or bulk. You can check out the holographic paper HERE

Feature products #1:Watercolor Roses Stamp, Chic Roses Layering Set from Alex Syberia Designs

 

 

These layering Chic Roses are super easy to assemble. Thanks to the designs, you do not need to line up precisely and the roses look so rustic and beautiful. 

I used paper pad from this collection and chose mixed colors from the color paper.  These color paper are just the right thickness for die-cutting and folding. 

 

 

 Since I made so many roses, I decided to decorate the white gift bag with a matching card.  I highly recommend to create your own gift bags. It is such a great way to personalize the bags and you also get a chance to use your craft supplies! The background of the card was stamped with Watercolor Flowers Stamp. LOVE this stamp set!

 

 Feature products #2: Large Smile Die, Floral Medley Stamp & Die Set

 

 

 The Floral Medley Stamp & Die Set is suitable for coloring. I am no coloring expert, however, this floral set turned out just fine with minimum effort of coloring.

 

 

 

For the Large Smile Die, I lined up the color strips from this paper collection. I incorporated a bit of shine with this Holographic Mirror paper from Scrapbook. com. Once I have enough paper coverage, I went ahead and made the die cut over the stripe paper. Isn't this card eye0catching?

Creative Use of Shape Dies (5 Card Share)

Hello friends!

I am popping in with a refreshing project.... this "Zesty Life" stamp, stencil and die set were released this summer. 

This versatile set is great for all year round. Also, you can apply the idea to your shape die.

This card was 100% stenciled. The Zesty Life Layering Stencil is super easy to use and layer. You can use any colors for ink-blending.

Once I was satisfied with the stenciled background, I stamped and sentiment and then made the diecut.

The Nesting Frame Die is great for this. I used Nesting Label Die is no longer available.

Top tip: As you can see, there is an extra piece of gold label die underneath. I made an extra piece of label die with gold cardstock and then extend the piece by cutting it in half and added extra foam underneath.

Don't forget the embellishment to add that touch of shine.

 Here is my first version with the Zesty Life Set. I colored the images with Altenew Artists' Gouache Set. If you are watercolor-challenged, I recommend to give Altenew Artists' Gouache Set set a try. It is much easier to control and color.

I am happy that I made great use of this set. I know I would have come up with more ideas if I keep at it. But for now, I'll stop. Haha.

100% Stenciled and Stamped

Hello friends!

I am popping in to share a one-layer (almost) card with you . This stamp is part of the Dynamic Duo subscription from Altenew.  I love stamping with it that this is my 2nd version with this Leaf Wreath.

The stencil set truly is the star in this set. The alignment was easy to apply inks.

 The best thing is that you can apply any colors that you wish. I stick with the traditional color and shades of green.

The wreath designs truly are versatile for all year round. It can be a house-warming, birthday,  Thanksgiving or Christmas themes.

 With a stamp-positioner like MISTI (Scrapbook. com, Simon Says Stamp)

or Stampwheeel (Altenew, Scrapbook. com, Simon Says Stamp)

you can stencil and stamp to your liking. However, even if you do not have stamp positioner, you can still achieve great results with a few practices on scrap paper.

NEW- Art Journaling and More

Happy October, friends!

I hope this post finds you well.  With the new month and new chapter, I am going to start with a brand new feature...that is, I am jumping on the art journal bandwagon. 

Starting October, I will share at least one or two page of my art journal at the beginning of the month. There will be stamping, die cutting, cutting and pasting... and more Mixed Media Art. I am excited to try out something new. Hope you like this new feature! 

I recently purchased the Solar Paste and gave it a try! I have other embossing paste and find the Simon Hurley paste VERY fine and creamy.

 Since I am just beginning to do art journal, it would have been nice to get a proper art journal like this or this. However, I couldn't wait for the online shipping, I went ahead and bought a Mixed Media book from my local Michael's.  Here is the first page from my art journaling. 

 

 As mentioned, I will use what I have in my stash. These fall embellishments art part of the Quick and Easy Card Kit from Spellbinders. The ephemera are great additions for art-journaling.I also used Altenew Trellis Stencil  (Scrapbook. com, Simon Says Stamp) for the page.

 Starting with creating an ink-smooshed color background. I then added the torn paper in the middle and embellished the page with fall-themed images. 

 Applying the Solar Paste to Trellis Stencil was easy and smooth. Spreading tools like this is sufficient. The Distress Oxide Ink I used are shown in the photo. 

Obviously, I will not have all the new supplies from Altenew any more as I stepped down from the design team since August. I will try to use products from my stash. I must admit that some of the supplies have not been used at all. I hope through my sharing and blogging, you will continue to find inspiration. 

Some of you asked me why I stepped down from the Altenew DT. Isn't it amazing to be on the team?

 It is/was! I love love getting FREE new products and that was the best perk for being on a design team. However, there were a lot of hours and hours going into the design process, photo editing, submitting and posting and sharing in a designated deadline. Truthfully, I was fortunate to be on the card DT since 2017 and now I have come to the crossroad and decided to turn a new corner. I simply want to create freely without feeling the pressure and demands of promoting only certain company's products.  I also want spend more time with my grandson and getting back to traveling. Not having commitments and obligations are very freeing. I hope this will reflect on creating my future projects. You can understand that I need to continue to evolve and grow and not feeling stagnate...

 With a detailed stencil like this, Stamp Wheel has a Grid Mat that would secure the stencil piece in place. You can purchase Altenew Grid Mat (Low-Tack and Ultra -Sticky) separately.

 I find it very helpful to have the mat when you do the detailed inking. The Detailed Blending Brushes are super fine and can be applied with any pressure. These ink detailed brushes are good alternatives.

 

 

 

 Once I finished ink-blending, I added foam pads and sandwich the acetate in between. I stamped "Happy Fall" with the help of Stamp Wheel and achieved the gradient effect.

 

The Hero Arts My Monthly Hero Classic Sept 2023 comes with a Unicorn white Pen. This white liquid pen is awesome for adding droplets. See those mushrooms? Yes, they are lovely, right?
