Altenew Build-A-Flower: Candystripe Cosmos Release Blog Hop + Giveaway ($200 in total prizes)

 HAPPY NEW YEAR!

I am delighted to start 2022 with a new Build-a-Flower post.

We are celebrating this month's Build-A-Flower Candystripe Cosmos with a blog hop!

If you arrive from the blog of  Erin Thompson, you are in the right place.
If not, come and join the fun hop for ideas and inspiration.

Build-A-Flower: Candystripe Cosmos Product Description:

This set features a gorgeous, elaborately showy candystripe cosmos flower with a branch and a leaf that you are sure to love.  We have also included a few silhouettes of leafy branches perfect for adding stunning background patterns and foliage to your projects.

1 I decided to stamp one image and stamped it in great details.

The color mix is amazing when you can combine dye ink and pigment ink.
Top Tip: After stamping part of the solid image in Pigment Ink. Let it dry. You can then ink up the next layer with Dye Ink of your choice.

The Pigment Ink serves as a base foundation for the dye ink. The colors do mix beautifully. You can see that in my petals, there are bits of white, periwinkle, blue and purple in it.

This time, I also used an unusual background. I was intrigued by Organic Stone 3D Embossing Folder.  In order to keep the entire card surface less bulky, I die cut the cardstock with Candystripe Cosmos first.

I ran the card stock with the embossing folder. I then had a piece that will match perfectly with my stamped and die cut flower. I added 3 pieces all together. They fit perfectly like a puzzle! You can certainly just use foam tape to pop up the image. However, I think it looks more refined this way.

Very well done and I've not seen anyone do this before - embossing a die cut to fit its textured background. Great idea. Thanks!

The flower is so lovely on the textured background. Such a neat idea to emboss the die cut so that it fits the background like a glove. I had never thought of layering pigment ink and dye inks.

I love the textures to your card and the wonderful colors in the flower petals! The EF reminds me of floor tile a friend has in her shower. As usual a lot to learn from your post. Thanks.
