Simple Layered Stamping

Happy Saturday!
I am in the floral mood lately and thought it would be most appropriate to share another.
Thursday's post was about using solid stamps as the main focus (see here). Today I am using the Altenew's Floral Shadow for the background...

English Roses (Clearly Besotted)

I enjoy layered stamping and this English Roses is just the ticket for it!
The lining-up is straightforward and there's absolute no guess work involved.

I simply gathered my favorite inks and started with the lightest to the darkest. There is no right or wrong about this process. It's just a matter of personal preference.

As you can see, I also used the outline stamps without inking them up entirely. I love the added intricacy the outline stamps give. Hope you check out this English Roses (Clearly Besotted) if you love simple yet elegant style of stamps.

Today we are celebrating my Father-in-Law's 90th birthday!!
It's awesome to be with family to commemorate this huge milestone.
There will be lots and lots of chatting and eating.... :)

My son David with Grandparents.

Thank you for stopping by!

A truly lovely card. Virginia, you color sense is extraordinary. I appreciate the way you composed these flowers. And David -- his spectacular smile. Best wishes to your father-in-law.
