Working with a Large Intricate die

Hello friends!
I don't know about you, but I am quite addicted to misting and spraying bottles....

I love creating my own color paper, the sprays and mist bottle thingy are quickly becoming my BFF.
It sure helps to create with a die like this gorgeous and intricate one.
s
This die has "everything " you want in a Garland.
The piece is just the right size and it speaks volumes.

Merry Christmas -001

This is what I did...anyone can do it!

Step 1. spray/mist on watercolor paper and get some inky fun before bed time
Step 2. wake up to see your DIY color paper ---> all dry and ready for you
Step 3. take out your favorite new/old die and start die cutting

I am not sure if you noticed....but I actually used the negative part of the die as a stencil.
See the green behind the die? Yeah, that subtle difference make it SING!

And voila! You've got yourself some unique and amazing pieces.
(this is the pie I made on Saturday)
Last but certainly not the least....
Happy Thanksgiving to my fellow Canadian card makers!
Turkey and pumpkin pies are in order today.... :)

Ooooh, this is so pretty Virginia, I love this die and all those pretty colours. Beautiful!
Happy Thanksgiving to you as well! We will be spending the day tomorrow with our children and grandsons at our cabin in the woods. Its by a lovely river surrounded by beautifully coloured leaves right now. We will have our meal there and carve pumpkins and make crafts with the boys. Can't wait!

First off, hope you have/had a wonderful Thanksgiving. Secondly, you're well on your way to completing your Christmas cards, apparently. This one is beautiful...love that you used the negative to "shadow" your focal point. You're right, it does make it extra special.

First off, have to say I have enjoyed all of your inspiration and techniques! my question is, I noticed you used the nuvo drops, and wondered if you have a preference between them and the enamel accents?
Or is it just that nuvo has so many more colors? Thank you so much for sharing your creativity and artistic talent!

Thanks so much for the Thanksgiving wishes, everyone! The turkey has just gone to my oven heaven... :)

Hi, Cathy Grant: I love enamel Accents, however, I have very limited colors and I tend to use smaller size. So when I do want to use Enamel Accents, I almost always don't have the right size or colors! They are pretty expensive, too.
I am new to Nuvo (only have 4 colros so far), but they can be easily applied with various sizes and to the area I want (without worrying about whether it sticks or not). I like the neutral colors as they are like the new sequins without the fuss. Hope this answers your question.

Wish I was at your house--the pie looks so yummy, Virginia! I almost bought that die yesterday, but didn't let myself as I have so much stuff already. Gorgeous card--great idea stenciling under the die cut!
