Hello friends!
Welcome to my series of Versatile Vases.
Welcome to my series of Versatile Vases.
So many of you mentioned how you enjoy seeing various takes on this Stamp/Die Bundle. I want to thank you for your kind and thoughtful comments.
Onto this weeks VASE series...
I had this crazy idea when I think of using Washi tape as the vase.
You can simply stamp and die cut with Washi Paper much like how you use them with pattern paper.
*All products used in this post are listed at the end of this post.
Due to the popularityof this series, Versatile Vases are in demand!
As expected, they are all sold out!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I decided to take it up a little notch--embossing on Washi Tape?
Yes, it works! I am not sure if you have ever seen embossing on Washi, but it is a new thing that I don't think I have seen it anywhere else! If you see it today for the first time here, I'd say "YAY" and please tell me in your comment today!
I started out with applying a piece of Painted Orchid Washi Tape to a piece of regular medium to heavy white card stock. You can see that I tore off the Washi and strategically adhered it just for the main part of the vase.
I then stamped and embossed it with Antique Silver Embossing Powder.
I happened to have a spare piece of gold-embossed Under the Cherry Blossom Tree Set.
It is odd to use a "tree" in a vase"! However, the fine small branches are actually up to the right scale with the vase. So, you never know....look carefully in your stash, you might find something that you would not think of!
To ground the image, I stamped the background with One Day at a Time Stamp Set. Love that marbleized image! If you love background and abstract design, I highly recommend One Day at a Time Stamp Set. I also cut out the extra flowers from the Washi Tape as embellishments.
What do you think? I really hope that you are inspired to try the "Embossing with Washi Tape" technique! Thanks so much for stopping by!
This is awesome and I'm so glad to know you can emboss on washi. It really enhances that vase. All the elements look so cohesive...love your gorgeous design.
Love how you used the marble background with the vase. The piece of branch looks perfect in the vase. I love the silver embossed vase. Really pretty card!
I always forget to say how much I like how you stage the cards you do for the photographs!
