Sentiment with a Pattern

Hello friends!

I am popping in with a quick card about using up scraps.
What do you do when you have a not-so-perfect stamped background?
This was my dilemma. I was playing the Altenew Checkerboard Stamp with the Mixed Media Ink.

I love how the Mixed Media Inked, however, I missed a few small squares here and there.
I still love the overall stamping and thought I should still use the less than perfect stamped background.

The Waterbrush Hello Die came to the rescue. To make the sentiment more prominent, I added the Washi Tape and then I ran it through the Mini Blossom Die Cut Machine.

I then stamped a few small checkerboard pattern in the background to keep up the overall theme. As for the background, I used DIY paper (inked with the Mixed Media Ink) with the help of Gel Plate (all linked below). The paper was also part of a scrap that I don't have use for.

hello -003

I can not always create stellar projects as I do love my scraps.
Hope you enjoy today's mix mash card!

PS: Spellbinders and Altenew WINNER ANNOUNCEMENT is coming up at Aug. 25th, 2pm EDT.

Just love your trio of hellos in the washi, Virginia! So fun on the stamped background; don't even see a boo-boo, wherever it is...

Love the trio of hellos! It really is a cute card and helped with your background problem. I have lots of not-so-perfect backgrounds so will keep your solution in mind. My problem is I usually have a spot of two that are darker than the surrounding area. It is either redo the whole thing darker or try to cover up the offending spots! Your idea is a perfect solution.

I like the idea to keep working on things that don't work out as expected. The test and scraps can really be useful.

Fantastic work using scraps! Every detail of your checkerboard stamp looks beautiful. The use of Washi Tape is quite evident in your artistic work. I do read a lot of books and blogs on Painting and Handicrafts. It inspired me much to start with some simple art activities.
