5 Top Tips to Elevate Your Stencil Designs

 Hello friends!

Today's post is all about adding that WOW factor to your stenciled designs.  It's my turn to share a project with you over Altenew Card Blog. Please stop by and check it out!

Layering Stencils are super fun and versatile and they all the rage these days. From beautiful floral layering stencils to wonderful geometric, Altenew stencils offer endless possibilities. These assorted stencils really push your artistic ability to the next level.  Here are the 5 Top Tips to elevate your stencil designs!

1. Pick Your Colors

Whether you like a monochromatic or a colorful one, you can easily do so with stencils. Here I chose a few colors  (pink, green and yellow) to ink up Fancy Sweater Stencil Set (2 in 1).

2. Shift That Stencil

Once I placed  the first stencil with Satin Masking Tape, I can easily apply ink with the Small Ink Blending Tool.  I chose Teal Cave, Sweet Leaf, Just Green, Chamomile and Baby Pink. With the change of each color, I shifted the stencil to create one of a kind color combo and pattern. By shifting the positions of the stencils, you can open up many possibilities!

3. Add Textures

Stenciled cards do not need to be bland and flat. By adding textures, your stenciled card become much more eye-catching. Here I used Dotted Tile Debossing Cover Die to add that special touches to my stenciled background.

4. Be Bold

Choosing bold statement is perfect for a design like this. The Fancy Yay Die offers not just the sentiment but visual interest also. Any large word dies will work beautifully with a stenciled background.

5. Embellish and More

Let's not forget the embellishments. I dressed up the sentiment die with "Elegant Foil Washi Tape". Simply apply a piece of Washi over the white cardstock and then die cut it!  You've got yourself a FANCY die! The Antique Gold Sequins are just icing on the cake!  I hope you find my 5 top tips helpful. I appreciate that you stop by today!

Brilliant use of color and the debossing adds so much interest and flow to the graphic stenciling. That black and gold sentiment is the ideal touch for that background.

Very pretty! Really like how you added the black and gold Washi tape to the greeting. Adds such an elegant touch. I would never would have thought to stencil over the cover die , but it really is striking!
