Hello friends!
I have a special post today. This card was created with the troubling current event heavily on my mind in the last week. You may have already known what's happening in Ukraine. It is very sad and troubling. I poured my energy into this card as it was therapeutic and soothing.
You can say that this card is my love note to people in Ukraine.
I started out with creating the colors in my mind. Based on Ukraine's National Flag, this is the closest I can get. I inked up Distress Oxide (Mustard Seed, Citrus Lemon, Salty Ocean and BluePrint Sketch)
Once I was happy with the colors, I clear-embossed the entire card-stock. This customized glossy paper was complete!
I then used Lovely Envelope Die and die cut away. I used up nearly every bit of my glossy paper.
For the background, I wanted to have some textures and yet not overly busy.... Lovely Birds Embossing Folder came to the rescue.
I purposely covered up the love birds image and let the flowers and leaves showing through. Over Instagram, I offered three cards for Ukrainecardrive see HERE) for auction. The winning bidder will donate the money to the listed charity towards helping the Ukrainians.
Here are my Card #1, Card #2, Card #3 .
The bidding finishes on March 3rd (detail are HERE) . If you are interested, please act and watch out for the deadline.

fantastic Virginia. So beautiful and how generous to offer up these beautiful cards.
Nice way to combine the cause and color. I like the idea for making the glossy look.
This is beautiful Virginia! I love what you have done here, and I completely concur with your heartfelt sentiments!
Gorgeous! So beautifully and thoughtfully done!
Oh Virginia, love the gloss that is mirrored in the perfect sentiment. You really used your creative energy well. That dry, colored embossing compliments the sweet, flower filled envelope beautifully. Wonderful, heart-felt card.
Beautiful and sooo wonderful to create for such a great cause!
What a beautiful card. The colors you used are perfect to represent the Ukrainian flag. My first thought when I saw the sentiment was that it was made for this card. I had seen that set before but that sentiment never jumped out to me. It is like it was waiting to be used for this purpose.
I like the uplifting design and colors.
Love the idea of making our own glossy paper and I LOVE the card!!!
Adorable card for the people of Ukraine. It is so sad what they are going through. Love the glossy paper and perfect embossed background.
