Hello friends!
Today's my turn with a few projects over Altenew Card Blog.
It's time for Creativity Unlocked, featuring this month's Craft-A-Flower: Orchids Layering Die Set.
When I took a glance at the die set, it was love at first sight. If you are an orchid lover like me, you'd notice the incredible shapes and details of each die. I knew that the meticulously designed etched lines on the petal would give the orchid a very realistic look. Let's check out a few samples
For the background, I ink-blended a touch of yellow (Citrus Burst) and pink (Baby Pink) and added a few splatters (Frosty Pink Metallic Shimmer Ink Spray). The Satin White Sequins are perfect embellishments for this.
Orchids Layering Card #2: Happy Birthday (Ink-Blending, Stencil, Die-Cutting)
This Craft-A-Flower Orchids Layering Die Set is perfect for any orientation. Here, I changed it to a horizontal design.
I was inspired by the vibrant orchid color combo that I always see in my local flower shop. I applied pink (Cherry Blossom) and purple (Shades of Purple) onto a Classic Crest Solar Cardstock (80 lbs). The "happy birthday" sentiment is from the "Well Read Stamp Set."
Next, using the Volcano Lake Crisp Dye Ink, I made a subtle stenciled background with the "Double Rainbow Stencil." You'd agree that the Enamel Dots are simply spot on!
Orchids Layering Card #3: With Heartfelt Thanks (Die-Cutting, Embossing Folder, and Ink-Blending)
These flowers were created in a similar manner as Card #2. I did change up the background a bit by tilting the Window Slats Embossing Folder.
I love the subtle color of the Lavender Field Cardstock and thought it makes a great pairing with the orchid flower colors (as seen in Card #2 too).
I'd love it if you can stop by Altenew Card Blog and leave me some feedback/comment.
