Clean and Simple

Hello friends!
I am not sure about you, but my favorite "pick-me-up" thing to do is to play card-making challenges!
Yeah, I know....what a shocker ( speaking from someone who runs a challenge blog!!).
s
I have some new Neat and Tangles goodies and then I saw the little tangles challenge "CAS"!
PLAY time it is!

This stamp set "Perfect Blend" designed by my friend May Sukyong Park is ever so trendy and cute! I adore that cat image even though I am not really a cat person. Hubby has been trying to convince me to get a cat .... !
Sorry...., I digressed..

I created a one layer card since these are so many fun images in this set. It's funny that May happened to mention my one layer tips in her post (see here).

I started out with masking the border and then stamped the small coffee cup images. The images were colored with my limited copic markers.

Originally I was going to stamp the sentiment right underneath the large coffee mug. But in the end, I decided to stamp around the images instead. It was not perfect, but it sure is lovely and funky.

A little personal share :
I do enjoy drinking coffee in the mornings.  I "blame" my son David with two things--coffee and card-making. When David was in preschool, I picked up that 2pm coffee break habit. Then I would head straight to browse the stamp aisles at Michael's. The coffee shop and Michael's were located in the same mall! How convenient! The coffee break and stamping got me through those challenging time since David was a needy baby/preschooler. And now, I have David to thank because I would not know what to do without coffee and card-making!

The best part is...David turns out to be a very fine young man. He has a sunny disposition and pleasant personality (always smiley). He is intelligent, fun to hang out with and has a promising future ahead of him. You would have never guessed that I actually bought a book called "The Difficult Child" back then. I want to encourage those who have a similar situation with needy children, this is to let you know...that there is light at the end of the tunnel.😊<---new emoji!!

Lastly, the December 2016 Monthly Card Kit is out!
Each month's kit sells out very quickly, I think this one will be sold out soon....😀

Your card is really unique. I am a coffee and tea drinker and have been for years. I really like your idea to stamp the greeting along the sides and top and bottom--that's really a creative look. I, too, had a 'needy' son who also had ants in his pants. Long story short like David he has an incredible smile, a great job and is no longer needy nor has been for many years. Best of all, although he lives in a different city, he calls several times a week. Both of my 'adult' children are great as are my grandsons. Although, I must admit, many of my family don't quite get card making.

Just love your coffee card, Virginia! Bet you recall those days of David's (and Stephanie's) youth with great nostalgia!

Love your card Virginia and I actually have that set, (almost unheard of... me having something relatively current. LOL)
I am sure YOU had a great deal to do with how great your son has turned out! It doesn't just "happen" because you bought and read a book! LOL It takes a LOT more than that!

So fun! I love how you framed the stamped area with the sentiment and created that wonderful pattern!
