The Hidden Gem

Hello friends!
Today's post is to highlight a "hidden gem"!
What's a hidden gem in crafting, you'd ask?
It's that element you could add but it often left unseen.
I am talking about....
Clear embossing powder such as

I started with stamping the frame with
Altenew MAJESTIC MISTLETOE Clear Stamp Set ALT1879

Once I stamped the laurels in various green, I embossed the sentiment Altenew TRANSLUCENT PEARL Crisp Embossing Powder
be merry
You can see the embossing powder. It is shiny yet is also creates a barrier to resist the watercoloring.
I used the same Altenew Ink (just add water) and colored  around the sentiment.

I hope you like this card I share. I love using unconventional colors for Christmas cards. This card is definitely one of those examples.

Heck, yes, I like it. The card is so pretty. I like the embossing powder, too. Subtle but lovely.

Great card, excellent colors. I am such a traditionalist that I never think outside the box. Your card is a wonderful example of outside the box thinking. Clear embossing powder is a true crafter's friend. It sure makes your sentiment stand out.

totally awesome Virginia. Love the idea of using the embossing powder as a resist for the watercolouring.

I wish I could watercolor like you do, Virginia. Beautifully done!
