When Distress Oxide Meets Alcohol Ink....

Hello friends!
I have a UBER fun post today...lots of inks and colors!
This past weekend, I got to play with my inks and when I couldn't decide which color medium that I want to use, I decided to use them all.

That's when my Distress Oxide met my Alcohol Ink....
Let me tell you, they can work harmoniously together!
wish you a very happy birthday

Since they both have different "personality", you have to find a common ground for them to shine!
I found Alcohol Ink Yupo Paper  ( see Scrapbook.com here).

I started out with positioning my stamps in my MISTI. This is crucial if you like to add various colors. I first painted my alcohol ink on the blue flower. It turned out FABULOUS! When I say paint, I literally used the paint brush to soak up the Alcohol Ink Solution with the Alcohol Ink.

I kind of knew that this will stain my cling stamp, but I just wanted to try... I was not brave enough though 😏, so I inked up the rest of the flowers with Distress Oxide. I do love how they all turned out. So, it's all good.😀

At this point, I am not giving up on using alcohol ink! In order to keep the stamped colors in tact, I applied clear-embossing powder over the flowers. In this close-up photo, you can see the clear-embossed images.

With some trials and error,  I proceeded to color the background with alcohol ink and blending solution. At the end, I applied a piece of white-embossed sentiment (Special Thoughts) on vellum. The vellum piece was dry-embossed with Rows of Stitches.

Just an FYI

So clever to use all your mediums on the card... A real Mixed Media for sure. It is just perfect.

I'd say this experiment paid off, big time. The colors you captured are glorious and the card turned out beautifully. I'm going to have to put this on my to do list.

Wow, different inks, different methods equal a lovely card. Your experiment was all to the good. I especially like the use of vellum-something for me to remember!

What a beautiful result you got from using alcohol inks and regular ink!. My favorite is the blue flower. I really think embossed sentiments on vellum add a touch of elegance to cards.
