Christmas Tree Card with a Modern Vibe

Hope you are having a great day so far.

Today's card is a quick Christmas card with a modern vibe!
I am using the following Penny Black Xmas Tree Die as an example.

Even though the name of the die indicates that it is a "border", it is perfect for center stage.
I often see the product as it IS, not what it is meant to be! 
There is  difference, right?

 

How cool is that tree die? In order to show off its coolness, I decided to use a piece of stripey alcohol inked-paper that I made a while a go.  It was sitting on my craft desk and I didn't think it could be used in any of my cards!

Note to myself: do not discard seemingly impossible-to-use scraps. 
This die also comes with a few tiny stars (which I used with silver glitter paper).
 

After the die-cutting, I added the extra piece of strip from the tree to the bottom of the card.

To keep the design simple yet vibrant, I stamped just a few snowflakes (from Sparkling Bright Stamp Set)  in the background and call it a day.
