Hello friends!
I am popping in with a fun post about Pretty Picket Fence Die from Penny Black.
This die is a great compliment to any of the floral designs. Here is the card I shared previously.
However, is there other ways of using this die other than creating a a fence?
After playing around with the pieces, I took a simple approach.
I then used two of the die cut and made an ornate background for my stamped images.
After weaving the two pieces of dies, I inked the middle area with Cracked Pistachio Distress Oxide. It is kind of looks like the garden trellis, isn't it?

For the focal point, I stamped the Lovely Lilac and fussy cut it. Since I wanted to show off the background, I kept the the floral element simple.
For the card base, I used a piece of white cardstock that was die cut with Leaf Stitched Rectangles Die. This set of rectangles die truly is awesome if you are in search of a set of rectangle dies.
As you can see, it really was easy to do and what a difference to have that intricate background?

If you are on the fence with the Pretty Picket Fence Die, I hope today's post helps you see my point of view.

Beautiful "welcome spring" cards, gorgeous colors and an invented use of a die! Thank you.
Love the picket fence die! Great background idea!
I think this idea is a wonderful change up for the die.
what a clever idea Virginia. Always a bonus when you find a new way to use your supplies.
Mouth drop! You have an amazing imagination. I love the texture and depth that it gives to the lilacs.
Your picket fence makes the perfect garden trellis. Such a lovely background for the Lovely Lilac. Th intricate background adds so much texture. Would also make a great Easter card.
Pretty cards. Love the creative background with this die.
I liked your idea of interlocking the fence pieces. Think I will also try using that as a stencil to make an interesting background with my Distress Oxide inks.
Fabulous idea, Virginia!! Thanks so much for your inspiration in thinking about using our supplies in unique ways!!
