Stamp Focus: Flowering Cistus

It gives me great joy to share 3 projects with Flowering Cistus Stamp Set 
over Altenew Card Blog. This beautifully-designed stamp set is the one that appeal to all levels of stampers and I can see why! This set has two Cistus flowers and each comes in 6 layers!

I love how it works because you can stamp from one layer to six layers. Regardless of your precision in layered stamping, the results are always artsy and pretty! The stamp-ability is endless!

 Due to the popularity, only the stamp sets and masks are available.
All the coordinating dies are sold out (wah-wah).

To start, I stamped and masked the flowers in the colors of blue and purple. These two cooler colors are complimentary and easy to do thanks to the Altenew Inks (Enchanted Garden and Lapis Lazulli). With the guides on the packaging, I was able to stamp each flowers and leaves easily.

Tip #1:  Use negative part of the mask and then sponge the color! For the leaves, I left out the solid image and only stamped the detailed leaf image.  With the negative part of the Flowering Cistus Mask Stencil in place, I sponged the leave in Lime very quickly.
 I love the light and airy look of the leaves!

Tip #2: Elevate that sentiment! I cut up the stamped background. Once cut, I popped up the thin strip and added the part of the Frame Thanks Die. To embellish, I added Satin White Sequins and silver strings. Got to love that Wow factor!

Noticed the "thanks" word die? I used Gradient Card Stock (Shades of Purple). It's quick and easy!

My next card was created with a trendy color combo (pink, yellow/orange and grey) in mind. For the grey, I used Rock Collection. I also mixed in the pink ( Fuchsia and Magenta) , yellow (Vanilla Cream, Chamomile) and orange (Sunray and Snapdragon).

Tip#3: Play and experiment with Altenew Inks. You can mix the pink and yellow in the same flower! Imagine the unexpected burst of colors you will get!

Tip #4: It's all about the odd number. There are 5 flowers and 5 leaves in this card.  I also aimed for the triangle when positing the leaves.

The add that extra grayness, I used the new "Grand Stream" Washi Tape. 
 I love how the Washi Tape make this design shine!
 

For my 3rd card, I decided to allow myself to let loose and have a little nearly no-line watercoloring fun.

Tip #5: Stamp the outline in the lightest color before watercoloring.  For example, I stamped the outlines in Arctic Crisp Dye Ink. You can use any lightest shades of ink  (grey, blue and yellow) for this purpose.

The A2 Watercolor Paper Pad is so awesome as it can absorb quite a bit of water.  My go-to Artist Watercolor 24 Pan Set never disappoint me as the colors are rich and creamy to work with.

Tip #6: Emboss those outlines! Once I am finished with the watercoloring, I stamped the outlines in Obsidian Pigment Ink and clear-embossed it with Crystal Clear Crisp Embossing Powder. This leaves the outlines some extra shine and textures.

I want to point out that the Coordinating Dies comes with two versions of you ( as seen in card #2 and #3). They are wonderful to use in any projects !
