We are celebrating this month's Paint-A-Flower Camellia with a blog hop!
If you arrive from the blog of Mindy Eggen, you are in the right place.
If not, come and join the fun hop for ideas and inspiration.
For my take with this stamp set, I took out my latest favorite medium
If you are not comfortable with water-coloring, I highly suggest the Woodless Watercolor Pencils (linked below). The fine tips allow you to get a better control of the water flow.
Every time, I used the Woodless Watercolor Pencils, I am almost always love how it turned out.
I kept the colors simple and it didn't take long to color the images.
For the background, I adding grey and a bit of blue. This is my first time using such colors for the background. I think it worked with the flower color scheme.
Also, the Woodless Color Pencils require NO sharpening. I only need to swipe the pencils to keep them sharp (if needed). I love the portability of these pencils. Hope you enjoy today's hop.

What a beautiful card, Virginia! You’ve inspired me to try the pencils.
I have to get my watercolor pencils wet. The colors you show here are so lovely and look so vibrant against that background you created. The Virginia embellishments are just the right touch.
Love your card Virginia! I really love the background with the bright flowers.

Very pretty, bright and cheerful!
Beautiful, Virginia! I was given these pencils for Christmas, but as yet I haven't used them. Nor excuses now! Thanks so much for sharing and the great inspiration! Take care! :)
Stunning, this is such a beautiful card Virginia! I love the big orange blooms, tiny bit of red berries, and the smoky background! I've never tried watercolor pencils but I'd love to try. ; )
Beautiful card! Love the complimentary colors you chose!!
The color combination on your card is stunning! Love the orange camellias and the background!
Love these beautiful camellias!
Gorgeous flowers and I ADORE that background!!!
Beautiful watercolouring of the image!
Gorgeous card, love your background shading color, I don't usually think about doing that, thank you!
Your card is very pretty. I like your background.
Oh, the orange and red look amazing together!!! Excellent idea
You achieved a very dramatic background with your color choices. It sets off the flowers wonderfully.
The intensity of the colors you got with the pencils is amazing. Makes me think of the results I get with "inktense" pencil -- and that is saying a lot because I love them.
Gorgeous color combo, Virginia, & the background coloring really makes the flowers pop. I just got those pencils & will be playing with them soon!
Totally love the blue and grey background coloring. Your floral colors are also very nice. Always a good stop on the hop at VL.
Gorgeous card!
Lovely! Such beautiful coloring of this lovely stamp set.
The background painting truly did work! It made those orange flowers really pop.

So neat that you used the wood less watercolor pencils! Thank you for the encouragement as well with using these as a beginner watercolorist. It can be daunting sometimes to try new techniques. I am also quite in love with the orange!!!
Beautiful card!
