Altenew Craft-A-Flower: Cosmos Layering Die Set Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

 Hello friends!

It's time to share another exciting Altenew Craft-A-Flower with you.
We are celebrating this month's Craft-A-Flower Cosmos with a blog hop!

If you arrive from the blog o Michelle Short, you are in the right place.
If not, come and join the fun hop for ideas and inspiration. All the details about this blog are listed in Altenew Card Blog.

For this die set, it was really easy to die cut and assemble each piece. I took a lazy approach to get the die cut piece inked up.

I applied bright pink, orange and purple Watercolor Brush Markers liberally all over the Altenew Watercolor Card Stock. This was done before bed time.

The next morning, I have a bright piece of watercolor card stock--tada! Next comes the fun part: die-cutting and assembling.  I strategically selected the colors and die cut the pieces based on the depth and colors.

Noticed I also "stamped" the background? Yes, I die cut some craft foam and used it as a stamp....works like magic! This makes my design more cohesive and interesting.

Yeah, yeah, yeah! Great idea to make a stamp with foam and to create awesome, wildly colored flowers by watercoloring the paper first. What a creative artist you are, Virginia.

So fun! What a great idea to just drop some colors, and just be surprised every time at the results! I am going to have to try this, as yours turned out amazing!

glspmichael said...

The colors you chose to watercolor were stunning and made for a very striking card. What I loved the most was what you wrote about using the foam to then stamp the rest. I would have never thought of that and can’t wait to try it. I’ve never used craft foam for anything so I read up on it after seeing your card and before posting. Thank you for a fresh idea! This blog hop is really getting me excited!

Love the card. I really liked how you made a "stamp" of the die cut to create additional flowers. It added depth without distracting from the die cut flowers as the focal point.
