Keeping It Light and Fresh

Hello friends!
I am sharing a happy and uplifting card.
http://shrsl.com/22xvh
 Beloved View
Today's post title is one of the things that I remind myself when I started stamping back in 2009.
At that time, my daughter Stephanie was in university, Back in those days, I asked her advice about what kind of cards that will appeal to her. She told me to stay away from "old ladies' cards".

thanks -001

I didn't know what she meant what "old ladies' cards" meant and asked her to elaborate.
She said to keep the design "light and fresh" and not to pile on all kinds of "stuff" on it.
Noted.
thanks

I took notes on that and ever since, I have tried to do just that.

Ding--->About the stamp set Beloved View, you can use the heart balloon with the scene stamp (like I did in this post). OR you can use them separately! For the balloons, you can stamp multiple balloons for Valentine's Day, Love/Anniversary, Thinking of You, Congratulations ...etc.
If  you have never tried scene stamp like this, I highly recommend this one! Imagine all the cool sky background (beyond the fence) that you can create.... ?

thanks

For this card, I colored it all with Distress Oxide Ink.
With this type of card, it definitely helps with a MISTI. The repeated stamping helps a great deal when you can go back to stamp the same area  with various colors.
thanks (2)

I hope that you like this light and fresh approach and my idea on using this cling stamp set in many very creative ways. Thanks for stopping by!

I like the light and impressionist feel to the coloring. I get a bit intimidated when I see these scene stamps. Do you spray the stamp with the colors for the multiple stamping or is it a combination ink application of dry and wet medium?

This is a light airy scene with a touch of whimsy
in the balloons! And I like the gentle colouring!

Thanks so much ,everyone, for your kind comments!
To Ms. Tamp: I inked each small section with Distress Oxide (no spraying). With MISTI, you can just add colors in tiny section with the helps of tiny ink applicator tools( see product list). Hope this helps! I appreciate your feedback!

Fresh and sweet...you definitely kept it light with no "old lady" stuff on it. Such a fun and happy card.

I probably would not have thought about purchasing that scenic stamp because it looked so dark. And then you make it light and fresh with those wonderful colors.
