Hello friends!
I am sharing a super fun project with you today. It has been a while since I made a shaker card.
When I saw this stamp set "Frozen Vista" from Penny Black, I knew that I had to make a shaker card with it. I mean, it's a snow globe! You've got to try making a shaker card, right?
I find that it is easiest to use two pieces of card stock of same size. One for the top part (with the die cut out) and one for the stamped and embossed image.
For my focal point, I stamped the images selective with various Distress Oxide. Green for the trees, brown for the deer. Once that was completed, I cleared-embossed the entire image.
The clear-embossing sealed the entire image. I then proceeded to ink up the background in blue. I found that the lines weren't defined enough.
I decided to white-emboss part of the images. You can see the lines, part of the trees and stars are white-embossed. I accidentally left some white embossing on the trees...which was perfect! They look like snow on the trees!
I can not stress enough to leave the stamp in place inside the MISTI until you finish all of the stamping, coloring. This allows you re-stamp and re-emboss.
Next comes the construction part. I inserted a piece of acetate behind the cut out and added foam tape around the image. I then dropped some glittered specks on top of the stamped image. Pop the two pieces together! Voila!
I can't help making another version with the other image from this stamp set. You get a sneak peek as to what comes next. Thanks for stopping by!
*I am listing all the latest Penny Black release that I will be featuring in the next few months.
