The shiny surface was the lovely clear embossing Powder. The beauty of Distress Oxide is that you do not need Versamark for clear-embossing! Awesome, right?

I also love the new (to me) DCWV 6 x 6 METALLICS Glitter And Foil Washi Stack. This paper is a must for holiday card-making. There is no foiling, gadgets, tools needed for adding that extra shine!)

Lastly, I am sharing my father-in-law's 91st birthday photo.
Pop has dementia for the last 8 years now. His sweet personality and gentle manner did not change...everyone at the retirement home LOVES him! These pictures are precious!
After moving him 3 times, he is finally living in a retirement home that's close to us now. So happy.
Thanks for stopping by!

The November 2017 Card Kit is still available.

Beautiful card! I just barely collected enough distress inks to make a rainbow, so I am finally able really play with them. :) I think the distress oxides sound amazing also, but I am still learning about what they can do! I'm glad to see that they stamp well, and you can clear emboss with them!

Loving those glorious Fall colors you chose...and the card is to die for. Embossing adds so much beauty to it, as does the "Virginia touches". Your FIL looks very happy to reach this milestone birthday. So glad you found a place close to you so you can be with him more often.
